Winning the next 3 gets the Flames into 6-8th playoff spot... 1 pt ahead of Vancouver after the same # of games.. IF things break their way.

With this short season every game becomes so much more important..... a loss in regulation put the Flames 15th in the west by points earned per game and 26th overall.

I think getting 5 points out of the next 3 is likely. Chicago will be tough on sat. The only question mark. Will be a heck of a game though!

They need this win badly. If they can't beat a tired team like the Av's, i would guess that there is little chance they could beat the blackhawks on Saturday.

Flames with a big win 7-3.

Iggy with 2, Cervenka, Hudler and Cammi get their first of the year.

Please God Flames win. Let's see if JayBo can follow up on his excellent game on the weekend, or will he return to being the underwhelming overpaid chap we're all used to? I think other then Kipper, he will be the key to any type of Flames success this season. Hoping for a 4-0 win for the boys in Red!

Very winnable game. 3-0 Flames. The good guys lock it down defensively and Kipper plays really solid tonight!

Keep in mind that we are talking about the Flames, the team that beats the good teams and finds a way to lose against bad teams (with the exception of Edmonton). But considering the amount of injuries they have and our obvious urgency to get on a winning streak I think we can pull through.

Backlund, Glencross, Tanguay, Cervenka and Wideman with goals.

Barring some really terrible luck (a whole bunch of odd bounces, injuries, penalties etc), if the Flames can't win this game then I'm about to give up on the season. No excuses. I want to see a comfortable win.

EDIT: 4-1 Flames, 'cause Kipper hasn't been that sharp to start the season.

"likely" is not the first word that comes to mind.

If the Flames can't beat this brutal team on home ice, I will be very concerned.

All signs point to a win but I think the Avs will put up a good fight.

4-1 Flames. Iggy scores at least one.

It's my first game at the Dome this season. I'm looking forward to a Flames 4-1 victory.

I'm already very concerned. I think the Flames' poor home form is going to bite them in the ass on this one.

Don't care about the final score so long as it's a Flames win in regulation. What I really want to see out of this game is Hudler and Cervenka continue where they left off last game. If they do then I expect at least a goal from that line, possibly more.

Flames win when they shouldn't and lose when they shouldn't.

Calgary outplays Colorado and out shoots them 36-19.

Colorado wins 3-1 with an empty netter from Hejduk.

Every time the Flames have an advantage they tend to blow it. Absolutely everything is going their way in this game, thats why its going to be especially heartbreaking to watch.

We know this, it happens every time. Its going to be 3-0 Avs after the first period and then it'll end 5-2 or something.

A slow start out of the gate is practically a sure thing. The Flames start every game like a punch-drunk boxer.
