If they lose in the first 2 rounds the pick would be between 15th and 26th depending on the standings. Given where they are now, the earliest the pick is likely to be is in the 24 or 25 range.

I hope the Penguins go out in the first round this year. Even the difference between 24th and 30th can be huge in the first round.
Iginla can get his cup in 2014 when it doesn't impact our draft pick.

Honestly, the guy deserves a cup. I hope he gets it this year.

I forgot that playoff performances impact draft choice.
I guess I am hoping for a Penguins loss all the way in.
Five positions in the draft can be a big difference.

The Bruins are my team in the east so I would have rather Iginla had gone there so that I could cheer for both Iginla and the Bruins.
As it stands, I will cheer for the Pens (mainly just Iginla). I did the same thing when I cheered for Bourque (and the Avs). I know it results in a "worse" draft pick for us from the trade but I doubt there will be a dramatic difference between the quality of player from the 26th(?) spot to the 30th spot.
Also, I am hoping that if Iginla wins it all this year he will want to come home over the summer.

I believe in the Jays.

I want the Flames to get the higher draft pick so yeah I would not be disappointed if they get bounced in the first round... I'd like to see Iggy with the Cup but I'd rather it not be at the expense of the Calgary Flames no matter how small that expense is.

I'm not a Flames fan and will generally cheer for an underdog when my team isn't involved. I don't cheer for the strong favourites so will be cheering against the team that appears to have stacked itself for one run. Go, Bruins. I hate Anaheim so if the Pens meet them in the playoffs, I guess I'm kinda stuck.

Nope, you're not the only one.
22nd to 26th pick is better than 30th pick. Iginla is now a former Flame. Screw the Penguins, gotta look out for my favorite team. Iggy can go win it in 2014... with another team.
With that said, I think the Penguins are just a good regular season team. Their defence are glorified forwards and their goaltending is Oilers bad. They'll be bounced in the first round if they meet a well rounded, defence first team.

I've always cheered against them. Even before it was cool.
I can't wait until the Flyers are good again.

The Bruins will take them out in 6 or 7 games.
If the Bruins had a NHL level powerplay they would take them out in 4.

Iggy is a great guy, and I loved him here, but he's not a Flame.
Then again, I'm not prone to be sentimental...and I just see hockey players as people who have made millions, so I rarely feel sorry for them if the don't win Cups, etc.

Iginla has done more a whole lot for this franchise, city, and fanbase.
In this instance he could have said he didn't want to be traded, but instead, he let the team get some good assets for him. True he gets something out of the deal too, but there's nothing wrong with a win/win.
Iginla is a great guy who I want to see win a Stanely Cup, and if that means the Flames pick 30th instead of 20th, then so be it.
Realisticly, the difference between a #20 and #30 pick isn't that great.

I hope he wins, or goes out in round 1 this year. I would be cool with either.

I would argue against that.
20-26 range gets you an Eberle, Giroux, Berglund, Pacioretty, Oshie, etc.
28-30 seems like its almost as likely to get you a decent player as a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

I don't know why, but I have always considered Pittsburgh to be Philadelphia's Edmonton, and so the Flyers grew on me.
Something about the Penguins and the fans I have been exposed to... Probably just me though.

I'm cheering for the Pens to win the cup. Iginla deserves the ring, for what he's given this team. If you don't think so, I don't know what's wrong with you.

I'm a Bruins fan so i went from sad to to bittersweet to gutted last night.
I will be a glad when Iggy gets his first point first goal for the Pens. More like a proud poppa scenario. Like that's my boy Iggy way to go then back to sigh from a Flames perspective.
As a Iggy fan i will hope Iginla scores often but ultimately as a Bruins fan if the Pens vs Boston at some point i will want Boston to win the series and hoist the Cup.
If Boston gets bounced in another series then my support will shift to PIT only because of Iggy.

Picking 25th or 30th isn't likely to change the Flames fortune one way or another. I want Iginla to win a Cup. Go Iginla.

Iginla deserves it because he's a great player and a great guy.
But the Pens are now too good to be true and if they don't win the cup it could be one of the biggest failures for a team in a while.

I've always been somewhat of a Penguins fan going back to the Lemieux teams so this is great for me. 25-30 overall pick isn't that much of a difference if it means Iginla getting his cup. Hell I may purchase a Penguins #12 jersey.
