the guy is smiling holding a phone up with a logo on it. A thumbs down is a pretty tame way of photo bombing in an enemy arena.

there's an orange pom pom in the singer's face for most of the feed.

so yeah I don't see it.

I think I'd feel differently if he did something disrespectful, but he has every right to be in that shot as anyone else cheering or holding pom poms.

It's funny ...

That place must be horrible, unless you are not drinking any beers.
I don't know if anyone has been to the new arena, but the geniuses decided to put about 2 mens bathrooms on the whole level (7) I was on. Long lineups into the concourse to use the pissers, and now they fill the concourses with more guys drinking beer. idiots.

Haha. For real? Worst comparison ever. I prefer the light hearted sports rivalry without any association with Nazism, political imprisonment and family torn apart by murder in a concentration camp. Kind of makes things weird...

Kudos to phone case guy though.

Pretty sure that part was in Ford Hall, at the watch party near the bar outside the ticketed area. I think there's a draw to get in there but you don't need to pay.

In either case, the timing of that guy holding up the Flames logo was hilarious. I don't see it was any more disrespectful than people holding up their Oil crests. It's an anthem ahead of a hockey game, not a memorial.

So much this. I abhor the anthems at sports events. Forced nationalism is just pathetic. Let alone that a large percentage of players aren't even Canadian or American.

I'm an Oilers fan and that is funny.

I was watching it last night and I did notice that guy giving the thumbs down right away but just seen the flames phone case today.

I'm most impressed with what he's saying. You can clearly read his lips there.

That takes balls to surround yourself with rival fanatics and cheer on your own team during a bloody anthem. Mad props

I found it funny. People take sports too seriously. It's one reason my interest has fallen a lot over the years. I'm still an Oilers fan but I don't care as much. That was funny and didn't take it seriously.

Turns out phone case guy and I have friends in common on FB, so when I posted the link, he was tagged. Have directed him here. Told him to keep fighting the good fight.

Good stuff.

That guy has the courage of a lion to be yelling "Go Flames Go" stuck in the middle of a room filled wall to wall with drunk Oiler fans. I guess if he needed to defend himself he could always swing his huge steel balls at head level.
