It was indeed a great round. I do actually appreciate the strict rules around no cell phones and stuff. The place is an oasis in the middle of the city, and the lack of distraction is liberating. Took a cart, so no elevator. Damn.

The course itself is in immaculate condition. Never played on a more perfect course. Greens were as smooth as humanly possible.

The layout of the course was more hilly than I imagined. Of course 1,9,10,18 have big elevation changes, but even on the plateau, lots of undulation and rarely a totally flat lie. Nicely designed classic parkland layout, tough par 3s I thought.

Ended up shooting 83 from the tips, which was decent for the first time. The highlight of the round was 15, when we got caught in the storm. Hit my tee shot to the par 3 to the bunker, then ran to the shelter. Came back 45 minutes later, hit the bunker shot from the soaked sand. Holed it for birdie. Ha ha.

Stopped after 14 yesterday at Beaver Dam after two of these were spotted! One was very, very close.

Played it 3 weeks ago, course in great shape overall. Greens good, no noticeable wet spot or drainage issues. Just some pretty smart crows that strike when your hitting the second shot on 10 and pretty much clean you out of the food you just bought at the halfway house.

Certainly one of the very best public golf courses in Canada. I don't think player skill level even matters, it's just a great layout with great views and has always been in excellent shape when I've played. Still like Kananaskis more because of the price point but Tobiano is definitely a better golf course.

Course is not in the best shape. Probably as bad as I've ever seen it. Greens have dead patches on them, and there are weeds everywhere on the course. The bunkers are borderline unplayable, most of them are hard mud.

I won't be back anytime soon. Heritage is a much better value right now.
I dodged the rain and got out to Sirocco tonight. Teed off at 6pm and was off 18 by 9:30.

I must have played on a different course earlier in the year because the place is in fantastic shape. The green are up to their usual standard, fast and smooth. Most of the weeds have been taken care of and the few bunkers I was in were much nicer to play out of.

Heritage isn't a bad walk. No worse than Sirocco, although the pro shop staff looked at us like we were nuts for deciding to walk the course.

I thought that at heritage it was a long walk between some holes.

to me, sirocco is about as tough of a walk as I would want to take on.

I have seen a few guys walking at innisfail - I am guessing they were part mountain goat.

The walks between holes aren't that bad only real bad one is Heritage 7 to Heritage 8.

The walks between nines is not fun at all and they should use the shuttle that they use to pick people up from the parking lot, but that costs money so they don't.

this is a golf related gear grinder, but man am I ever annoyed when I hear people say either "sit boo boo, sit" or "that'll do donkey" on the golf course.
I want to drop my ball and shoot it at them.
