Default Brian Burke

Well with the 5 fire feaster threads bogging down this forum I wanted to get some thoughts on a potential replacement if that were to happen. The timing of this would line up perfectly.. with Burke being let go and saying he wants to be a GM again.

I'm a big Brian Burke fan and think he is exactly what we need for this team. I remember really wanting him as GM before Toronto signed him and that's still the case for me today.

What would your reaction be if Brian Burke was hired as GM of the Calgary Flames?

Make Iggy the player/GM.

He could be coach too but I don't want him to take too much responsibility.

I like Brian Burke, but he has to have a much thicker skin with the media.

If the flames ownership changes the mandate and go rebuild, i would grab Burke in a second.

Burke wins trades ( except Kessel) and thats what you need going into the deadline.

I want Burke only because of the awesome relationship he and eric francis would have.
Aside from that, I would still like burke if they chose to remove feaster.

Let's get that garbage off the team. How about he shows heart as a player before we do anything more with him. I know this is a joke and Iginla has been amazing but currently, he is an overpaid 7 mil dollar player.

Well at least he won't be a puppet of ownership/King. He will also try to make the team actually tougher which is very different than what Feaster has been doing which is making the team the softest in the league.

I don't think he would mesh with Edwards.

i would like brian burke.

but flames management don't want a GM, think they want a puppet to spew this 'win now' garbage, so not a good marriage.

Considering Burke built one of the best teams in the East right now.. I wouldn't really care.

To be fair Burke is a better fit for a US team like the Ducks where the owners are anonymous and are fine with entrusting the hockey operations solely to one man. There are simply a lot of owners that would likely want more input than maybe what Burke desires.

Aww, you think there's a chance that Feaster actually gets fired for his gross negligence.

That's cute.

I still think we should give the reigns to Weisbrod. Seems like he's got more inside than the shell he's being kept in suggests.

I hope you're not referring to the Leafs. They have a long ways to go to prove their a top team.
