Funny how goaltending sewers head coaches.

It’s the ultimate blame game. GM fails to address goaltending, coach gets blamed.

New head coach bump + new goalie = Stanley cup champs?

Or, looking for the new coach bump for a boost before the deadline.

If they were throwing in the towel they would have just made this an off-season thing.

More like the opposite

To me this signals they want to push still, wouldn't be surprised if ownership is involved at this point if they are doing this now.

Hopefully the GM doesn't get fired which keeps the Markstrom deal alive.

As with the GM who should be the guy on the hot seat. He's totally botched their goaltending situation that cost Lindy his job and the team likely the playoffs.

It says to me they're still trying to salvage the season. Which could mean they still want Markstrom for this season.

But I could have it all wrong as well.

Travis Green happens to know a certain goalie well.

That would totally confirm the coach was the issue. Fitz is playing 4D chess here.

Wouldn’t have needed the new coach bump if they got that good goalie bump a few weeks back.

Yeah, they are pushing for POs. Ruff was just signed to a multi-year deal last fall. There's no way they fire him if they were playing out the string. They want a booste.

Now does that mean they will turn to goaltending again? Dunno.
