I think I'm hitting the halfway point of Manhunt on Apple, and having a hell of a time.
It's following the War Secretary chasing down John Wilks Booth, with lots of flashbacks to late civil war Lincoln, and dabbling it's toes in the impacts of emancipation. Tobias Menzies always seemed somewhat type cast as a friend who would heel turn on the protagonist, really enjoying him carrying the mantle himself, and gotta love anything with Patton Oswald in it.
Also currently caught up on Franklin, it's OK but I can't get over the Michael Douglas of it. He is just too distinctive of an individual to play such a well document historic figure. Every time he speaks I can't hear Ben Franklin. Also needed someone a little fatter and a little balder to really feel right. But great production quality, as one would expect with an Apple history piece.
I'm enjoying Franklin a little bit more in Ep4. Since John Adams showed up. I think maybe Michael Douglas just needs someone to snipe at, his personality didn't feel right until he was making another actors character feel stupid.
So on a side note I was going through my old DVD's and I think I'm going to have a vintage watch through.
The first one
The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Takes place after the events of T2 and basically gets rid of the terrible T3, T4 etc. I've started the first two episodes, and the cast is really incredible, its well acted and its smart. Its kinda sad that Summer Glau has pretty much walked away from acting. The show really hit its stride in season two before Fox once again cancelled a outstanding show.
Jericho (2008) - The show opens with a Nuclear attack in the united states, and the story takes place in small town Jericho who have no idea what's happened outside of their town. They get pieces of information here and there and iirc the first year focuses on towns in middle america going to war with each other. the show was cancelled after the first year but was bought back after the "Nuts" campaign. The second year focused on unravelling wht the nuclear attack happened.
V the remake - I still love the orignial V TV series in its full and glorious 80's big haired female cheese. Plus it had Michael Iron Side on it. I don't remember much of this remake series except that just as it was getting good it got el cancelled.

Really enjoyed the second season of Winning Time. But it seems like they expected a 3rd or 4th season that just got wrapped up in the final credits. Too bad. The style of the show is very entertaining and there was a lot more story to tell.

Caleb farms the traditional area, Jeremy tries to make money on profitless land. But I expect plenty of council ####ting, so if that doesn't amuse you...

Why? I think ridiculous bureaucracy needs to be called out.
"Cheerful Charlie" who does absolutely everything 'By The Book' cant believe whats going on. An intelligent, educated and experienced Professional is saying "This is BS" I think we can take his word for it.
Yes. Clarkson is a buffoon. But man, that town Council needs an enema.
I really felt for the other farmers who were hoping to make a living by being associated with Clarkson and his restaurant. Clarkson is independently wealthy, I dont know about the rest of them.
Clarkson loses a bit of cash he does some more 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' or he just goes to Jeff and asks him to cover it, those other farmers? They've got to work for a living.

Mainly because it wasn't good TV.
But also, because I think they weren't wrong to take issue with the high-profile store and restaurant and the effect it clearly has on the town, traffic, and surrounding area. Coupled with this new wave of pop culture mobs who were sending death threats to councilors, I could do with less of that stuff and more about farming.
Not to mention, I can't trust the "objectivity" of what is happening in the show vs. how it is playing out in real life. Clarkson is a well-known asshat and will likely try his best to take this fight as far as he can and have his mob follow it hook line and sinker

Clarkson strikes me as a kunt
