I did see that and you're probably right.

Don't know why the topic was moved, it is about Calgary Flames management and what they have been seen doing. Although not about the on ice product, it is about the club and is why I put it in where I did. Explanation?

I didnt read the whole thread but anyone catch Bo Levi Mitchell being interviewed during the west final and Grey Cup this year. He had a big wad of chew while talking. Pretty gross and there its a bit different because its an athlete.
I still have a problem with management doing it. When I played baseball as a teen, a lot of us kids used chew because we felt it was cool and the pros used to do it. One of the coaches on our team got mouth cancer from chew. I cant remember his age but he was young, maybe 30 and had used chew since his teens. Most of us quit very soon after.

Yeah, tablet did it, I read over everything else to make sure it was right but didn't even think about the heading. Don't know what it was auto correcting to?

It's very very dumb, but also their choice. Even if you don't like it what are you going to do? Kiprusoff smoked cigarettes, nothing really can be done to stop it while it's legal and not hindering their performance.

Nothing a guy can do but hope that maybe this being brought up may wake them up to how it looks. You are right it is a dumb thing to do and as such I do expect better of thowe two.

I just don't see what enables you, me, or anyone else to say or do anything about this. This doesn't harm anyone as far as I can tell.

I think the bigger issue is chewing in baseball. Burke/Trevel can use it if their superiors have no problem and they're not doing it in the public's eye.

I watched some playoff ball (basically never watch it outside of that). And the number of players with a dip in and spitting brown constantly is kinda gross. But the real problem is there are tonnes of kids watching this, and those guys are often idols/role models to these kids, which just perpetuates the usage and its place in the sport's culture.

That and the goddamn mess of sunflower seed shells everywhere.

Haha. I really don't have an issue with it. Seriously, how does this effect you in any way? They're not forcing you to do it

Heres an article from last year about hockey and the chew problem:
http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/loc....html?page=all

Google it and you can find quite a bit of articles of the matter.

We're not talking about babies that cant be instructed or spoken to.

If a kid sees something and then mindlessly repeats it no matter what and their parents idly sit by and watch their kid do it then theres really no helping any of them.
Fair enough, and I'd be inclined to agree with your feelings. But brought it up cause I know many people feel differently
