The following is from a 2011 interview...

[Monteith] admits, “I was out of control. [I used] anything and everything, as much as possible. I had a serious problem.”

Cory reveals his mother, who raised him after divorcing his parents divorced when he was 7, staged an intervention along with a group of friends when Cory was 19, because they were afraid he “could die.”

Yeah it's getting to that point where, as someone born in the 90's, these are our celebrities that are passing now. Michael Jackson and others are sad, but I was never old enough to really be a part of the craze. Not gonna lie, I and my musically inclined friends were big Glee fans for the first part of the series; this is one of the first times where the star of a show that I personally watched and enjoyed live while it was airing, has passed.

Yes he did, entered rehab at the start of April, I believe.

There was no doubt that he was a pretty talented guy. If you go through the web, there was also no doubt that he was a guy who had problems.

Very sad to see someone so young go.

By all accounts, he was a great guy. Apparently he looked to be doing well, which often seems the case in deaths like these. So sad.
