Don't get me wrong. Sasquatch was amazing. Just Beck I didn't like. I also just watched Tenacious D who put on just an amazingly entertaining set. They came out with Beck and lifted it tons.
Rest of the weekend was awesome. Jack White killed it

Yeah Jack Whtie at the Gorge would have been epic. If I'd had more vacation time and not been so old, I would have gone to both festivals. Even tried to drive down for the one day of concerts at Sasquatch, but they weren't selling day passes this year.

Sasquatch 2012 >>>> Coachella 2012
Sasquatch was amazing this year. Best festival experience of my life. And I didn't even stay Monday to see Beck.

Has anyone heard if KEXP or NPR will stream or podcast Sasquatch like they have done in the past?

Am I only one a bit underwhelmed by the line up? Maybe I'm just bitter because the David Bowie rumors didn't turn out to be true.

Definitely a weak line-up. Nothing really jumps out and says must see to me.

Looks like I picked a good year to skip it.
Not many on that list peak my interest.

What do people want from a festival? Big names? How do you define a "headliner"?
I'd be happy to see 50 bands I never heard of before.

I love Phoenix but them headlining basically says, "The headliner we wanted either backed out or wanted too much money so here you go."

For the price of Coachella, yes, big names. If I dropped that kind of cash for 50 random indie bands I've never heard of I'd be pissed.

At the cost of tickets (and associated cost of going to California/accomodations/etc.), there needs to be some interest with big names or bands you'd want to see/see again. I couldn't justify flying to California, paying a couple hundred bucks a day for a ####ty hotel room, and then a 3-day $100+ a day pass for the festival.
Edit: what valo said.

Indeed, when you charge what Coachella charges for tickets, you have a certain expectation level for big name artists. 400 bucks a ticket for the weekend and a bunch of mid-level bands makes it difficult to justify the cost. If you just wanna go to a festival for the sake of going, there are cheaper and closer options.
