The Coast Hotel is literally right around the corner from the arena. It's on Westminster Ave West and usually has some of the players staying there too. That's the only one I remember off hand from previous years. That said, Westminster Ave and Lakeshore Drive are sure to have a bunch of different accommodation options that are within walking distance to the arena... >5 mins.

Can anyone who's gone previously fill us in on what the experience is like?
The ticket packs seem like a great deal. What's the atmosphere like around the event?
Other things to do in the area at the time?
Would love some feedback on the overall experience from those who've attended.

Went last year and enjoyed it.
We stayed in Kelowna, with a rented vehicle it is very easy to get around. Also, tons to do, for us it was vineyards and golf.
I just bought tickets to the Flames games because we were doing other things as well, but a pack wouldn't be much more. Flame fans were definitely outnumbered by Oiler and (obviously) Nuck fans, but the atmosphere was casual and fun.
At the Flames/Oilers game, I was completely surrounded by Oiler fans and we all had a blast.
I would recommend it, and I might be going again this year.

The town itself is ok, but you're surrounded by beautiful vineyards, nice weather and loads of great golf courses. Lots to do. The games themselves are OK. Never sold out, maybe a thousand or so showed up to the one game I went to (canucks vs Flames). All in all honesty wry good value

If you stay at the Ramada, you might run into Flames players and management. That's where they were last year, and it is 1 block from the Arena.

In addition to the Ramada, and also close to rink are a Days Inn, Sandman, Stardust Motor Inn and the Coast Hotel.

I booked a room at the Coast. 2 queen beds and a fold out couch. Going to take the kids and show them what could be their franchise players growing up! Pretty exciting really!

We went last year, going back this year. It feels like a retirement town. Laid back and lots of old people. Last year it was during the jazz festival and dragon boat races, so it got pretty lively. I believe this year, it's on a different week. The people there are super friendly, and love to strike up a conversation with you at the rink and at the pubs.
There s also a lot of vineyards you can visit in between all the hockey games. The rink itself was nice and small, so sightlines were fantastic wherever you sit.

He is passable speed wise. That should make him closer to being an NHL D-man.

I am working work hard to send me to this. Pretty sure we have a crew going to stream the games so I am trying to get them to include a tech. Would love to get down to this tournament.

The Vancouver Canucks roster will include five players selected in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft since 2011: Jared McCann (24th overall in 2014), Bo Horvat (9th overall in 2013), Hunter Shinkaruk (24th overall in 2013), Brendan Gaunce (26th overall in 2012), and Nicklas Jensen (29th overall in 2011). Dane Fox, who led the Ontario Hockey League in goals (64) and ranked second in points (107) in 2013.14, will also attend the event alongside two players, Frank Corrado and Mike Zalewski, who spent time on the Canucks roster last season.
The Calgary Flames roster includes three first round draft picks: Sam Bennett (4th overall in 2014), Emile Poirier (22nd overall in 2013) and Morgan Klimchuk (28th overall in 2013). In addition, Mason McDonald, the 34th overall pick and first goalie to be drafted in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has been named to the roster. John Gaudreau, winner of the 2014 Hobey Baker Award, will also be in attendance.
The Edmonton Oilers roster will include Leon Draisaitl (selected 3rd overall in 2014), Darnell Nurse (selected 7th overall in 2013), Mitch Moroz (selected 32nd overall in 2012) and David Musil (selected 31st overall 2011). Laurent Brossoit, who was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team and ECHL 2nd All-Star Team following the 2013.14 season, will also attend the event.
The Winnipeg Jets roster includes two first round picks: Nikolaj Ehlers (9th overall in 2014) and Josh Morrissey (13th overall in 2013). The list also includes Nic Petan and J.C. Lipon, who represented Canada at the World Junior Championships in 2014 and 2013, respectively. Ryan Olsen, who collected 73 points in 2013.14 with the Kelowna Rockets, has been named to the tournament. Scott Kosmachuk, who collected 101 points and appeared in the Memorial Cup final with the Guelph Storm and 2014 NCAA Goalie of the Year Connor Hellebuyck will appear at the Young Stars Classic.
