I'm going to broadly generalize about one point three billion people here, but in my experience, chinese people don't handle arguments or conflict very well. They go from 0-100 really quickly and get extremely emotional.
I suspect it's because there are very few "micro-arguments," you know that moment when you give someone a "watch it buddy!" Because they're in your way or where you throw the finger at a driver or pedestrian? Not something that happens a lot in Asia. People don't have experience with getting mad, expressing it, and then calming down again, so interpersonal conflicts get wild in a hurry.
