You didn't go full Psynet because you made more than one post and then didn't vanish

That's not something to be proud of, or even should admit really.
Third post in took any sort of promise away from the thread being informative or having any kind of constructive debate.

You're right, I wish it could have been more like the other terrorist attack threads.
or as Cecil accurately put it

Although, point taken, Zevo. I still think my point is worth discussion, as I do despise the automatic assumption of Islamic terrorism COMBINED with the degradation of Islam and Muslims everywhere that happens after every attack.
If there was no latter than I wouldn't be annoyed with the former, but western society has unfortunately decided that they go hand in hand for the most part.

So now that we're waiting for the facts to come out... are there any facts that have come out?
EDIT: Found some.
Quote:
The suspected bomber was a 27-year-old Syrian who had lived in Germany for two years but was denied asylum in the country a year ago, according to Bavaria's top security official.
He blew himself up outside the wine bar in Ansbach, near Nuremburg, after being denied access to the nearby Ansbach Open music festival, according to Germany's interior minister Joachim Herrmann.
Hermann said it is unclear if the suspect intended to kill others or just himself but said he had “tried to commit suicide” twice before and had previously been in psychiatric care in the district hospital in Ansbach.
|
So... a Syrian refugee, but not from the most recent crisis... and also one who was screened out and not permitted to stay. So what was he doing there?

They're claiming he blew himself up after being denied entry, which I guess means he was planning to kill a lot more people inside before realizing he wasn't getting in. Sucks that people were injured, but sounds like we're dealing with best case scenario.

A device was exploded by a 27-year-old Syrian national outside a music festival. He had been denied entry into the event due to the lack of a ticket, Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said during a news conference early Monday.

These most recent German events strike me less as "terrorism" per se, and more as angry youth who grew up in culture(s) that have a higher tolerance for violence...who then choose to take out their frustrations violently in the same way they've seen others do before.
I'm not being an apologist here. I'm noting that there's a very strong contrast between the organized events in Brussels and Paris and the relatively "lone wolf" actions being seen in Germany. BOTH types of event are catastrophic for the victims, but they may not have the same solutions.
Edit: I see the mall shooter was German born, with Iranian heritage? Maybe not comparable with the other two recent ones.

These two mall shooting and this one appear to have a mental illness component to them. This guy trying to commit suicide twice before.
The distinction is important here because the solutions to the causes are different.

Yeah because great debate always happens in these type of threads.
Just can't wait until T@T posts in this thread and the great debate will start like usual.

Isn't T@T Canadian? Why try and label him as American, and "scarily" part of a certain demographic? You're propagating the same thing you're bitching about in this thread.
Also, to be fair to T@T, his hate and disrespect is very much equal opportunity.

Debate this, I don't hate any "people regardless of color/race"
What I hate is the moronic stupid practice of religion and how it divides and kills the people of this planet, Nobody will ever convince me a "smart or educated" person can truly believe in a religious GOD!... don't like my stance? GFYS and put me on ignore because I will never change my views...ever!

Exactly. I don't think T@T represents a broad segment of the American public at all. Are there a lot of atheists down there? Yeah, but most of them don't foam at the mouth. They just don't care about or believe in religious dogma. And there's nothing wrong in theory with being opposed to the very notion of religion, it's the way he conducts himself that's the problem.
T@T is his own unique little snowflake. In the worst possible way.

I wonder if there is some type of coordinated effort by islamic extremists to hammer Germany into luring them into war?

That would be a terrible, terrible idea. For everyone.
So I hope not.

The Germans are still too guilty to go to war.

Hey...if you pick the right group to discriminate against at the right time anything can happen.
Right Donald?
