In his defense... that 4:30 was his best game as a Flame... so there's that.

Would have been nice to have those two for the Heat game today, but obviously the Flames needed to keep Ortio around.

The Heat should be pretty darn impressive over this break with Ortio in net and Breen back.

I take it that these moves are more for the sake of the Heat and the two players involved than due to the possibility that Ramo will be back by the end of the break?

Sounds like Glencross could be back after the break. Maher said he's skating on his own.

Expected move for the Olympic break. I think that other teams will be doing exactly the same thing.

I think February 15th is the 8 week mark of his recovery, so if he's on schedule he should be good to go when the NHL restarts. Hopefully he can use this time to get his endurance back to full game shape.

Don't the Flames realize this will do irreparable damage to their confidence and things of this nature.

Whose confidence?

Ortio's it won't because they're liking putting him down so he can get some games and, if Ramo really did hurt his MCL, he'll be back up after the break.

As for Breen, at this point do we really care?

I would have liked to see Ortio start a game, should have been the Montreal one IMHO.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Good move, no sense in having those guys not playing for a few weeks.

I wonder who comes back up after the break.

I wonder when their flights will get into Abby. Depending on how the game goes tonight, it would be nice to have them ready. Texas Stars is the toughest opponent we face in the west.

When is Breen subject to waivers again?
