Mitch Hurwitz Talks Arrested Development 2.0

http://www.vulture.com/2012/04/mitch...opment-20.html

The Arrested Development reunion took another step toward reality on Tuesday when creator Mitch Hurwitz and several members of the cast appeared onstage together at a Netflix-sponsored event in Las Vegas. Speaking on the floor of the National Association of Broadcasters convention, Netflix chief Ted Sarandos confirmed that all ten episodes of Arrested's long-awaited fourth season will premiere together on a single day sometime next year. Hurwitz also confirmed that production is set to begin this summer, but he also dropped a new nugget of information about what form the Arrested revival will take.

Hurwitz and the cast made no mention onstage of the rumored Arrested Development movie that's been expected to follow the TV revival. He did, however, say he'd very much be open to a season five or six on Netflix.

Bob Loblaw will return.

God I hope the new episodes are funny and not forced. I could see the show coming back exactly like family guy did if the new content is original, if the jokes are rehashed it'll tank really quick.

I wonder what the thought process is for Netlfix releasing entire seasons at once.

They did it with Lillyhammer earlier this year.

Yeah, seems counter productive if you want to leverage it to drive subscriptions to the service. The only thing I can think of is that they really want to differentiate themselves from traditional television networks.

Yeah, it's really weird. I hope they change it. It's much better to do a weekly release, creates discussion about each episode as they air.

Michael: We have a private eye, huh?
Lucille: Oh I hired him a hundred years ago to find out if your father was cheating on me; he never did find anything.
Michael: Well he can't be very good then.
