Bring in Bruce. I really liked Bob but 3 top 6 picks in 4 years is not great for the resume even though it was the end of one era and the beginning of another

Hartley has a shelf life with players. Still quite a surprise.

I liked Bob, what a good man and a solid coach.

But if we get Boudreau, I'll be very happy.

Holy ****

I did not see that coming, at all. Then again, I live in Sweden and lurk on a forum for most of my Flames information....

What's great about Boudreau? ...I don't know much about his style, per se...only that he's coached stacked teams in WSH and ANA

I loved Bob, but he did not coach a possession based brand of hockey - and it hurt us.

That's too bad I liked Bob. Best of luck with whatever he does next.

Damn, wasn't expecting it. Was thinking they will let him coach out his contract.

He had a great year last year, winning the Jack Adams by taking the Flames all the way to the second round. A solid developmental year last year

This year, the entire team sputtered out of the gate and continued doing so till the end of the season.

Wish him all the best!

Man, I have mixed feelings about this. Hartley was such a positive influence on the team and I don't think you can place the struggles this year entirely on his shoulders. Give the guy an actual #1 goalie and see where we end up.

Defensively the team was a mess under him but I give him credit for playing an exciting style of hockey that made watching a rebuild more exciting than it should have been. That said the team has higher expectations and the style the team played was not conducive to consistency. All in all things went better under him than I expected at his time of hiring but for this team to become a contender they need to play a more structured brand of hockey.
