Torn on this one. Like the Isles overall but goaltending could be the difference with Bishop out duelling Greiss.

I'll say Isles in 7

Good job with the playoff seeding, NHL! This divisional format works so well and gives us great rivalries like... Islanders/Lightning.

Yep, the current format is dumb and it should be top 8 teams in each conf. so there won't be these lame inconsistencies such as a team with less points getting home ice adavantage. The problem with the current set up is having div rivals meet up in the 3rd round is unlikely. Having Pens-Caps go at it in the conf finals would be awesome. There's nothing wrong with an Islanders-Penguins series, those teams which are division rivals have had many terrific playoff battles. The most recent one was in 2013. Capitals-Bolts were div rivals until Butthead and company messed with the format.

Hmm. Obviously he won't play in this series, but you've got to think he tries to come back for the Eastern Conference final should Tampa advance.

Still pissed about '04. The Isles rebuild took forever. Finally they are breaking out. Isles in 7.

Isles didn't look good against Florida. But the panthers just looked worse and thats why I think they won.

Lightning in 5.

I came In here to whine about how it's not traditional to have the first and second rounds played simultaneously.

But I see its been done already.

x2

I don't care about the fact that this Lightning team isn't the same 04 team, the players and management has changed. The fact that they still call the "Lightning" and still located in Tempa Bay, I'll continue to hate them and wish them with no success for eternity, unless they move.

Go Isles Go

Tampa bay is about a 3-2 favorite by Vegas odds. Seems about right.

Dang, oh is that why they're doing it? I was hoping it was just policy going forward. I actually like it, I hate how the season drags well into mid-June now. If you know the matchup for the next round, get er going and get this thing wrapped up in early June at least.
