Default ADF - (2) Lightning vs. (WC1) Islanders --- Lightning Win 4-1

Discuss!

Anyone want to bet on the Isles in this one? Because I'll take that action...

I'd love for the Islanders to win, but honestly, I'll say Lightning in 4. The Islanders were remarkably unimpressive in a very sloppy series against Florida, so I think this one would be a short series in Tampa's favour either way. Tampa also has much more playoff experience, which is what I think tips the scales heavily in their favour.

I've got the Isles in this one, since I picked Detroit and Florida for the last two series and I think Tampa will win so I'll go against my hunch.

I think Tampa in 5 will happen, so I predict Islanders in six.

Should be closer than many think. Tavares is the best player on either team by far and the Isles have a stifling defense--much better than Detroit. Still overall Tampa is the better team and better team usually wins a long series. Bolts in seven.

I think this will go on longer than people think, I'm saying Bolts in 7.

Much as most of the predictions will likely be a result of the Isles' underwhelming showing in that first round, it should really be just as much about the Bolts' play. Especially Bishop, who looks totally on point.

I agree that Tavares is probably the best player, but you could make an argument for Victor Hedman. Not to mention Johnson plays above himself in the postseason (or has so far in his career), and the Isles just do not have anyone like Kucherov.

Not sure how the Isles showing was underwhelming against a division-winner that forced 3 OT games. Whereas the Bolts needed outstanding goaltending to beat an aging bubble team.

Still would bet on TBay, but just want to give Isles their due.

I think the Bolts will win but here's hoping the Isles pull the upset.

Islanders top 4 is far superior in their own zone.

Tavares is an absolute stud.

Greiss is on fire.

If Tampa solves any of those problems that Florida couldn't solve, this will be a short series.

Islanders were outplayed 5 on 5 the entire series. They won 3 of their 4 games in OT, and the 4th was a 1 goal win in the first game of the series when the Panthers were still adjusting to playoff hockey. Good luck, good officiating, and killer special teams were the things that saved them.

I think the Isles match up decently against the Lightning......better than they did against Florida.

That being said the Bolts have all the pieces and will be a very tough out against anyone.

Isles in 7

Bolts. I guess in 5. Kind of blah about this series. I was wrong on both predictions. Was expecting a FLA/DET series.

The two teams have played each other once in the postseason. It was in the first round of the 2004 playoffs and the Lighting won the series 4-1. The weird statistic from that series was the score for the first four games was 3-0. The Lightning won the fifth game in overtime.

Probably been asked somewhere before, but if the Isles win do they get to raise an Atlantic Division Champions banner?
