Oh its going to be 3-pipes. So much piping.
It might even be vertical across the chest. Thats the ticket.

The ads are for the new Adidas "Adizero" jersey but the replica jerseys will actually be made by (and branded) Fanatics. I'm curious what the pricing will be on these jerseys, and whether the arrangement with the team and other retailers (i.e. Jersey City, Sport Chek) will be any different in terms of selling them to the public...

I get way more amped up for a Flames game when they wear retros.
The building seems to have more of a buzz.
Ken King and co. are truly the worst persons of the world.

If it had to be a choice, I would have taken the piping over the flags every day.
Now I'm left with nothing for which to be optimistic.

the re-design process is not a very fast one. a buddy of mine was a 'higher-up' with jersey city for western canada a few years ago. we always talk hockey/jersey/etc and one of our discussions was about the canucks jerseys with the 'vancouver' arched over top of the orca. the canucks original plan was to switch to the 'lumberjack' logo but i guess they didn't (maybe still don't) own the copyright to that design and couldn't get a deal done in time (and by 'in time' i'm meaning like a year before they wanted to introduce the jersey). i believe he said it's something like the team needs permission to change the jersey for the league. once that permission is granted they need to come up with a jersey and then present that to the league for approval. once they have approval then production can begin. the entire process was something like a year to a year and a half.
i would imagine that this would be why it's not surprising that most teams are not doing major changes with adidas taking over. get in to an adidas jersey and keep it similar, then add a third next year, then maybe change up the primary jerseys in a season or two

Wasn't the Johnny Canuck lumberjack logo already on their shoulder patches though? If they had it on the shoulders, wouldn't they own the copyright?

It's going to be 47 degrees in Las Vegas tomorrow for the reveal.
I'm hoping the unveiled jersey just spontaneously combusts.

When I saw that black was to remain in the jersey I was disappointed that the retro wasn't returning full time. I took refuge in the fact that I don't mind the black and that they'll probably eliminate the flags for the shoulder patch they had on the previous 3rd jersey. Well, at least I'll be saving some money.
I'm hopeful that they will switch to retros for the team's 40th anniversary of being in Calgary. You just know that they'll keep the lousy flags for that one though.

Black was disappointing but understandable.
The non-italicized namebar was a nice touch.
These flags are a disgrace. I don't want to be Alberta's team, nor do I want to be Canada's team. This is Calgary's team and Calgary's team only.

Did I seriously wake up to the news the blue flag will be on the jersey? Is this a bad dream or did I die and end up in hell?

Pretty amazing that a team would stubbornly ignore the wishes of the people who they want to sell their product to. It's crystal clear what the majority of the fanbase wants, and yet the Flames' response to "please don't mess this up" is again "lol hold my beer".

From what we've seen, I don't know how they could possibly say this is a redesign. It's obvious the Flames don't care about jersey sales at all.
