Jersey sales are likely steady I'm guessing, which would explain the reluctance to make changes, but I agree 100% with everyone who says this was a wasted opportunity. Why would you not want to re-sell a jersey to 100,000 or more people at $200 a pop?
Does no one do market research at all with the Flames?? Surely they could see that the proportion of retros being purchased is outrageously high considering it's barely even the teams third jersey. I'd say the retro percentage of people in the dome is up to like 25%. Does that tell them nothing? I could've lived with the piping if they got rid of those stupid flags. Ten years of this bullcrap
I get that people here are mad but does the "common" fan care at all? If the patch was so widely reviled it would stand to reason that jersey sales would have dropped of precipitously when they were added in the first place right?
I don't love or hate them but I don't see this as some grand slap in the face to a fan base. It's a patch.

Wow. It's is actually almost hilarious. In the 10 years they have been on the jersey I've worn it in other provinces, around other fans, and you always get a similar response.
"What is that??"
"Oh it's the Alberta Flag....."
Insert one of: "why?" "Why is it blue?" "Oh.... cooolll...." "that looks terrible".
I think I'd rather now be a fly on the wall for jersey talks, over arena talks. I HAVE to understand how these are going hahaha. Amazing.
It honestly all hinges on the piping/stripes now as to whether or not it'll be an adequate jersey. You get rid of those and it's a step in the right direction and a much cleaner design.
I have zero faith in them actually cleaning up that awful, cluttered look though. They'll probably add a stripe somewhere.
I just noticed there's no collar stripes from the first sneak peek, so hanging on to a small inkling of hope that maybe they eliminated them elsewhere....
What a joke. You're talking about a fan base that would likely eat up a new third jersey every couple years and we've been using the same unpopular main ones for a decade?
