Bathroom renovation?

I just moved into a new condo and am potentially looking at having my bath tub converted into a full stand-up shower.

I have no idea where to start with this.

Google turns up lots of options but given I have no idea what I may be in for, I figured I would take any recommendations/referrals before I get started.
