So yeah, chances are those Edmonton fans don't have mullets anymore. They have the other kind of ullets.

Congrats to Tij!

Incidentally I drove past the Iginla home in Lake Country, BC last month. As you might imagine, it looks like a very nice house!

It's a River Valley. All Skullets should be called River Valleys.

I just the worst thought ever. What happens in a couple years when Edmonton tries to draft him? Jarome in an Oiler jersey watching his son play in Rogers Place?

Jarome Iginla will hopefully put a stop to that nonsense.

It's this kid's destiny to play for the Flames. Sometimes fate just writes itself.

Random thought, do people with 1/4 African decent consider themselves black? It seems standard for 1/2 (Jarome, Obama, etc), but not sure how far that extends. Looking at Tij's hair and forehead though, damn Iginla Sr has some strong ass genes

Would probably depends on the person, their story, their upbringing etc.

For some Canadians all it took was a trip to Ireland to claim Irish heritage.

Maybe Tij will be good enough to be named one of the 100 greatest NHLers because his dad certainly wasn't good enough

Edmonton will have traded away their 2024 first round pick to Arizona/Quebec for Anton Stralman and the rights to Phil Kessel's sweatpants.

Don’t forget his good shoes, it’s what pushed it to become their 2024 1st going the other way!

No. Calling his name at the draft would provide true balance to the force.

I was thinking it could only happen if Tij ends up becoming a top-five pick. The Oilers will never pick lower than #5 at the rate they are going.

I your first name is Tij (think TJ Brodie),

And your last name is Iginla,

There is only one team you should be playing for.

The only question is if he'll be allowed to wear #12.

He doesn't even wear #12 now. He wears #11.

Joe wears #12 and Jade wears #10, so they're obviously planning for the day they're all playing together on the same line for Team Canada in the first mixed Olympic hockey tournament.

Paolo Maldini who is a legend of Italian football and iconic club AC Milan had his #3 retired by the club, but I think they are letting his son wear it.
