But they haven't kicked the crap out of us.
They've been very lucky, we've been undisciplined, incredibly unlucky and had weak goaltending.
We've been the better team by all metrics except for of course the important one - score. Yes, that matters most, but if we get a bounce, it could snowball in our favour. We are due...
Definitely agree with your post. After seeing the team lose the last 2 it definitely feels like we are cursed against the Ducks so unless the fortunes turn around immediately I can't see them taking the next 4 which include 2 games at the Pond
For every historic 3-0 comeback first the team has to endure 3 heartbreaking losses. This is the first series which i have witnessed in which the better team has lost all games do to wierd flukey bounces. This cannot continue. This is not a Flames team which is being dominated. I have a wierd feeling we will mount a comeback. We just get everything together and Elliot gets his #### together and we will beat the Ducks and break the Honda centre curse. I know i will get ridiculed for this but i honestly believe we will not be swept and will not go down without giving them a good fight.
Thanks.
#### it, I'd thrown in the towel and given up on the team; but what your saying sounds a helluva lot more fun.
If the command centre makes a single call in our favour, and if we get out of the first period without allowing any goals, the boys just might believe that anything is possible. Another questionable call against us or early softie allowed and they are done. It's all about belief at this point. Yesterday, Ducks were badly outplayed, but after the high stick goal, they believed they were destined to win, and just kept throwing everything at the net rather than waiting for the best play.
As President Bill Pullman would say:
Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in this history of mankind.
Mankind -- that word should have new meaning for all of us today.
We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore.
We will be united in our common interests.
Perhaps its fate that today is the 4th of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution -- but from annihilation.
We're fighting for our right to live, to exist.
And should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice:
"We will not go quietly into the night!
We will not vanish without a fight!
We're going to live on!
We're going to survive!"
Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!

I predicted that the flames would lose 4 straight. And only because the goaltending isn't good enough 😔. Big flames fan but you have to be realistic. Elliott and Johnson were better than last years goalies but are still not the answer. I don't want either back unless it's one year while Parsons if getting his feet wet in the NHL

Parsons is not going to be playing in the NHL next year. He is at least two years away yet.
...on another note, expecting your favourite team to lose sucks. It is no fun. Even when the Flames were BADLY overmatched by the Ducks in 2015 I always watched every game with the anticipation that they would win. I will continue to do so when they play again tomorrow night, and every subsequent game of these playoffs.
GFG.

Game one the Ducks were better, but not by much.
Game two the Flames were better and got an unlucky bounce in the third.
Game three the Flames were much better and had some bad bounces, and bad beats but got it to OT.
I think the Flames have gotten better as the series as gone on and Anaheim has stumbled a bit. Without some help from BS calls (more from Toronto than the on-ice guys) and without some stupidly unlucky bounces this is a 2-1 Flames series. I seriously don't know the last time I've seen so many goals go in off of bank shots on our own players.
I think winning the next 4 is doable.
Is that mean the sneik going up again? Let's get 2 points from next game and start from there. Go Flames, let's make some noise!!!
The only solace is that we've outplayed/dominated the Ducks in all three games (arguable for game 1, but still). This is in stark contrast to 2015, when we were just dominated for 5 games straight and got lucky for one game.
If there was a time that a reverse sweep is possible, it'd be in this scenario. Not outmatched at all, outplaying them, and luck finds a way to even out.
However, the issue is that we're hoping for consistent (not even great) goaltending for 4 games, and I'm not quite sure that our current crop of goaltenders are really up for that.
The fans of this team have more resolve and heart than the players.
These post really make you look so clueless. There is nothing that we have seen from this team in these past 3 games, or this season that suggest the players have a lack of heart. They aren't losing cause they aren't willing to lay it on the line or play their asses off, so why make that comment?
None of us like the result we are getting, but at least show that you watch the games and associate the appropriate reasons with why we are down. It has nothing to do with a lack of heart or resolve........................
