It wasn't in.

And even if it was, nobody including the Flames noticed until it was too late.

With video review and overhead cams of today the Flames would have secured their second SC. But there is no going back....

2004 was exciting solely because of The Run. If you were to step back from that and re-watch the hockey that was played at that time, exciting isn't the way I'd describe it.

It was closer to full-contact-towing-people-through-mud than it was hockey.

You can know for sure that TB wouldn't have scored in the final 6:57 of the game?

There was no review on the play so nope it wouldn't have mattered either way.

Excited to see Stone with Brodie. Sadly I'll likely miss 90% of the game.

Go Flames Go!

Bennett scored a goal last year against Anaheim I think that was the exact same thing, and it went to review and the league still ruled it inconclusive.

Flames still would not have "scored" if it came down to the NHL.

That was during the 2015 playoffs against the Ducks. What did John Shannon call it again? Vertical something or other.

I don't really believe it was in which frankly helps me sleep better at night.

As for tonight's game, I'm starting to feel the Flames may go on a little run.

I think the NHL would have called them and got them to stop the game and review it. I don't believe they did that back then.

Re-posted without spoiler tags, for everyone who doesn't appreciate the sheer awesomeness of the PuppetPics™. If I had access, I would literally add a gallery section to the site to archive and display them all.

It was more then that. It ended a 7 year playoff drought. I'll never forget the standing ovation the team got when they clinched on home ice vs the Coyotes. Iggy was a Hart nominee and Rocket winner. Kipper was acquired and set a modern day GAA record, was a vezina nominee and 4th in Hart voting. Sutter with the deadline acquisitions that put us over the top. Regehr finally breaking out. But more then anything, the team finally had an identity and played as a team.

I don't know how anyone can say that hockey that season was unwatchable. It was damn near the most watchable hockey ever!!

I still can't look at images of them with the Cup and not feel sick to my stomach. I even have Canucks fans admitting to me it was in. And not in a "Haha, you got screwed!" way.

Here's hoping Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Monahan, and maybe Hamilton all crack the 40-point mark tonight. That would be hella awesome.
