Monahan 100G or 100A first ?

With Monys game last night his apples are catching right up to his go count. He now has 99G and 98A... What milestone does he hit first ?

I'm going with 100 apples.

Crazy how streaky his goal scoring has been this season. Either scores every game for 8 in a row or doesn't for 8 games in a row.

Can't wait to see 100.

It happens. Even Crosby went pointless vs the Coyotes and Avs while trying to hit 1000.

Doing 100/100 in the same game would be neat. It would highlight how solid he has been since day 1 of entering the league. Just quietly goes about his business.

Monahan leads his draft class (2013) in goals and points. Monahan is 2nd in points per game behind MacKinnon. Although, once Colorado figures things out and MacKinnon takes off it will be a different story. That said, Monahan was a great selection for the Flames. It's good to see a player they drafted doing so well.

I remember Iginla being at 300G/300A at the same time.

It doesn't look like he did it in the same game, though. From what I can find, it looks like he hit 300A one game and 300G the next.

That's not possible. He has to either be the goal scorer or be credited with the assist. An NHL player can't do both. Nice try though!

Despite the cold streak he's making strides.

In the last handful of games he's been harder on pucks and has developed a nice knack for picking opposing players pockets in the O-zone with a quick stick lift.

He's going to gradually come to the realization he's a big lad and start to throw his weight around. I don't see the Toews comparison at all (Bennett plays more of a Toews style IMO) but I do see Monahan developing into a Getzlaf type player.

All in I'm enjoying his game much more right now even though he's not showing up as much on the box score.
