Essentially. Like I said, it is to be taken with a grain of salt.

He seemed to be well-versed in his hockey knowledge, but I really have nothing to add except from what I've already said

Did you have any reason to believe he was with the Flames?

I think people objected as much as they did because it seemed like you suggested it was literally some random person.

You mean this story?

"This guy was almost definitely a fan taking on the phone about the Flames"

He was wearing a team jacket not unlike the ones the coaches wear in practice (management wore them at dev. camp in the stands)

But I mean you can buy those at FanAttic, which further goes to lower the likelihood that it was anything meaningful.

This "source" was textbook hearsay. It's more than likely a coincidence that Leslie's scoop was revealed today. It was small, but I figured why not share it?

I would imagine it's a contending team looking to add experienced blue line depth in the case of injuries or banged up regulars.

Wasn't Boston rumored to be interested in Wideman last year prior to the suspension?

1) The #1 thing most teams want to add heading into the playoffs is defensive depth
2) Wideman has played top 4 and first PP unit successfully in the past
3) GM's are willing to give players a second chance, or pick up reclamation targets, especially if they know the player firsthand

All that adds up to somebody probably being interested.

Wideman's NMC could be a barrier. What's the easiest way to remove that barrier? Scratch the player a bunch til he's sick of sitting and not playing and wants out desperately.

Would not surprise me at all if Wideman moves

All of this sound logic is giving me butterflies in my tummy.

I said this yesterday after the Stone trade...Just sayin'

Scorpion I'm really rooting for you.

Even if it was some guy talking on the phone to his insurance agent, and that was by far the worst rumour in the history of the internet, it would be stupid funny if you end up being the first to break the news with your little anecdote.

If you pull this off, you could be the Eklund of CP.

Coincidence isn't breaking news.

Yeah whatever. Says the guy who couldn't even break wind at an Orange Julius, let alone a ridiculous trade rumour.

He already is the Eklund of CP. That isn't a badge you want to wear. The guy wants to be a journalist. First thing to do is get a second source. Over hearing a conversation is not a credible source of anything.
