So 45 plus a late 2nd (the conditional pick) basically for 27?
Scorp- you gotta start putting stuff on the block and let people know. I bet others would have paid more to move into the first even in a weak draft. A mid and late 2nd for a first is a really low price.

With this draft in particular I thought the value was fair. He's dropping 18 spots back but picking up another top 60 player for doing it. Not sure the quality difference in player from 27 to 45 in this draft is that large. Such a crap shoot it seems.

This deal also took care of 2 conditions for the islanders so there's value in that.

I would wager that if he had let folks now he was looking to move down he could have got 3 seconds. Just suggesting that the trade block needs to be utilized to maximize value. No downside in making sure the league is aware of what you are looking to do

Hrdina... I appreciate your thoughts and really value your insights, but at the same time, could you let me do my job? Making public comments criticizing my decision making does little to help my reputation around the league... could we stick to PMs in the future for things like this?

Sure but the comments are intended not just to offer some admittedly unsolicited advice but also to remind the league about things like the trade block.

To Florida

Carey Price
Lars Eller
William Carrier
Josh Leivo

To San Jose

MA Fleury
Artemi Panarin
2.5 mil Cap

Goaltending is the most important thing in this game. Getting the best sets my team up for a while. Losing Panarin is a huge blow. However, getting Eller and two young forwards that will eventually fill up my bottom 6 helps to offset that a bit.
