Toronto Blue Jays vs Baltimore Orioles - ALWC
Hopefully the first of 4 playoff threads to come.
Two years in a row. May only be 1 game but soak it in, they made it! A 1 game playoff with the reward being a date with the Texas Rangers in the ALDS and a potential rematch of last years classic series.
Who's your preference for starter?
Obvious two choices are Stroman & Liriano. Both have pitched well lately, Liriano with a slight edge. Orioles are worse against lefties. Stroman hasn't been getting any run support either. I believe 0 runs scored in support in his last 3 starts.
Gametime TBD I believe, but likely 6:00PM Mountain.

Help, save, whatever.

I think Stro should pitch. He's part of their future and he's really turned his season around so I think he deserves it. But you throw Liriano in there if you see any sign that he is off.

The starters have been so good recently, I'd be fine with anyone but Dickey.

I would prefer Liriano, based on the fact that Baltimore doesn't hit lefties as well.
Plus, he's on a bit of a roll lately

I hope we are done with these terrible playoff start times this year. For the love of god, no more 10am or 1pm games on weekdays please.

Okay, I've made my decision on who starts. Liriano, let's see if the Jays agree. I'd keep a quick hook in case he runs in to trouble with Stroman ready to go.
I found the stats against lefties. The Orioles are dead last in the AL in both OPS and wRC+ against left-handed pitching. It's really hard to ignore that.

Yeah good luck with that. Almost guaranteed that MLB will put all of Toronto's games in the worst possible timeslots.

I would feel better with Liriano over Stroman. When Liriano is on he's almost unhittable.

The lack of hitting that we saw in the Boston series concerns me more than who is pitching.

I'm going with Liriano, he found his groove late in the season. Stroman was the number 1 going into the season. He's now the 5th best starter they have.

Doubt it, Toroton and Texas has all the makings to be a classic. Last years series was the best of all the series that took place, now they have some extra tension. MLB is botching this if they let Toronto and Texas play at an early time.

In a playoffs the features the Red Sox, Dodgers and Cubs a Jays/Texas series is guaranteed to get the annoying afternoon games.

Not even close, we'll be afternoons the entire ALDS if we make it.

An LA team, a Chicago team, a New York team (if they beat San Fran) and the Red Sox.
Definitely no prime time for the Jays, but I'm fine with that as long as we get past Baltimore.
I'd rather non-prime time Jays playoffs than no Jays playoffs.

Dickey is coming out of the bullpen for the save in the top of the twelfth inning a la Tim Wakefield.
