Cool. So Jersey numbers? Hamonic #3 and Smith #41? Smith had #41 on the roster on the Flames website.

Yeah, both 3 and 41 are available. 3 was last worn by Jyrki Jokipakka, and 41 was last worn by Chad Billins.

Maybe I am looking into it too much, but I wonder if this means they are not big game hunting on July 1st. Typically the press conferences happen when the GM is done.

It could just be player availability as they could have summer plans.

I think Hamonic was the Flames "big game hunting". Flames still need to get a backup goaltender and bottom pairing defenseman but those don't quality as big game hunting in the free agent market.

Pretty much ends most fans hopes of reeling in a big name winger for the top line.
Doesn't seem like Management is overly concerned with that anyway.
Obviously there are not a ton of assets left to move unless we are shopping core players. Perhaps the Flames can dump a couple contests at the bottom of their roster and sign a decent UFA winger?

I don't see the Flames being active in the UFA market. Vegas is still a possibility, as they will need to move some D. Doesn't look like they can take on much salary as it turns out, unless they are able to unload a Sbisa/Garrison type.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

A #5 and a goalie are givens but I agree. See if we can figure out the offense internally and if nothing works go after someone at the deadline.

Just wanted to say that I thought Mike Smith was hilarious in The Hangover. Great movie.
