Am I Krec-zi for trading Krejci?

I get the Kings' best prospect who will play in the NHL next year, a solid middle-six centre, and a serviceable depth centre in return for Krejci, who I simply couldn't afford, and two waiver claims.

Looks like the type of trade you make when in cap jail. Then again I don't know as much about the Kings best prospect.

I did my best... not many people will go for a declining 32-year-old centre with an $8.5 million cap hit.

Good for both teams I think.

Wild obviously can afford it and pick up a solid C but Krejci is not a guy I would target with that cap hit. I think it also makes sense for the Islanders who drop a big salary with very limited trade partners for that type of player right now.

Remains to be seen if I can squeeze him in or not. I may have put myself in cap jail with this depending on re-rates and grid amounts for RFAs.
But I thought it was worth that risk. Krejci's production is pretty steady.
In terms of the price - I fully admit I didn't give up a big piece here but I think Ladue is the most valuable guy as I see him as a top 4 dman. He's the guy I didn't want to give up in the deal.
