I say good on Russell Brand. I know people get all upset by it but I think he's right. Yes he's a celebrity but so what? He's not allowed to have an opinion? I'm sure a lot of Canadians would agree that what he had to say was thought provoking and intelligent.

I think the whole "tough guy" Harper act is wearing thin on me. I don't want to suggest the sky is falling but how much more privacy should we have to give up? Does it even guarantee our safety or is it just theater? I would hope that Canadians are concerned about this in the coming days.

Yeah, that was ill-timed and inappropriate. The crappy thing about Brand is he's actually quite intelligent and often has good points. But he always ruins it by going too far with his theories and giving that typical over the top delivery, along with purposely trying to upset people/societies over national tragedies.

But his discussion over "terrorism" and the "response" from certain countries being heavily influenced by "business" as much as safety is fair. Along with his comments that America (and Canada to a certain extent) take away more and more freedoms and become more police state and intrusive domestically with each passing terrorist scare.
