I think the entire Bayern team has been linked with United this transfer season... Muller would be the guy I would hate to see go the most, Schweinsteiger a close second. Any of the others can be replaced

Beats me. It seems they just make up the rules as they go along.

Yeah that transfer ban is a joke. Even if he can't play for them until January, it still significantly weakens Atletico. Seems like those top Spanish clubs are above the rules all the time.
As for United, I think Darmian is a smart and sensible buy. Makes more sense than overpaying for someone like Coleman IMO. Schneiderlin also looks close, it seems that the clubs are haggling over a couple millions ... should be sorted soon, hopefully. Also still need a goalkeeper, a centre back and a striker.

Raheem Sterling should just call in sick for the week, no need for these day to day calls
what a horrible way to handle things he or more likely his agent is a horrible person

Ya it's turning into a very ugly situation. His camp haven't handled things well at all.

Yeah Sterling and his camp have been embarrassing in this. I think if Liverpool can get a decent fee from City, they will be the winners of this ... addition by subtraction at its finest. By the way Saido Berahino had the same agent as Sterling, but apparently fired him yesterday because of how embarrassing he handled the Sterling situation. If so, then good for Berahino.
For what it's worth, Sterling returned to training today.

Agents are terrible. Rumour had it that Schneiderlin's wage demands were around £150k per week, I wonder who was pushing for that?

So the rumours are that Sterling doesnt get along well with Rodgers and now people are asking about shipping Rodgers out and keeping Sterling.
Now I know I'm a little old-school but I'd never side with a player over a manager. You dont like the manager? Adios.
Besides, I think that would be a dangerous precedent for a club to set.

I hope he goes to City and then rightly flops, is chased from England, and plays his days away in a crap league.

I would be perfectly content with that. As soon as City or someone else fork out £50M he can be their problem.

I do think that United would offer him a higher wage than Arsenal and his agent was playing it as such. However, he was probably playing it to the d-bag level of agents.

With Fenerbahce confirming that they are in talks with Manchester United over a deal for Robin van Persie, the Dutchman's departure would leave Louis van Gaal decidedly short of striking options next season.
The Daily Star reports that United are ready to step up their long-term pursuit of Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller, and are preparing a £60 million bid for the Germany international.
Sources told ESPN FC in April that the 25-year-old World Cup winner was on United's radar, and while he has since distanced himself from a move to Old Trafford the chance to link up with Van Gaal again could be a tempting proposition.
Muller had better be warned, though, with The Sun reporting that Van Persie is leaving United because he is feeling "betrayed" by the manager.

I'd be choked if United buy Muller, but what the hell happened between LvG and RvP?

According to Bild, Bastian Schweinsteiger to United is a done deal. Honestly, I can't get excited about this at all. Almost 31 years old, often injured, clearly not as good as a couple years ago. If United sign Schweinsteiger instead of Schneiderlin, van Gaal is one big idiot.

Schweinsteiger is awesome and would be a huge upgrade of United's midfield. When hes healthy. Which as you accurately pointed out has been pretty rare lately.

Sounds like the Shaqiri to Stoke deal is dead?
