not saying they wouldnt have won anyway, as I think Boro completed about 8 passes in the liverpool half
but if that peno in the first half was given, and I think it was like 51/49 it was a pen
could have been interesting last 60 minutes
On top of winning too liverpool had some results go their way today that guaranteed they are seeded next year in the CL play in, which makes a huge difference

Champions League playoff seeded clubs: Sevilla, Napoli or Roma, Dynamo Kiev*, Ajax*, Liverpool
Unseeded clubs (five from 10): Sporting Lisbon, Viktoria Plzen*, CSKA Moscow*, Club Brugge*, Steaua Bucharest*, Young Boys*, Hoffenheim, Nice*, Istanbul Basaksehir or Besiktas*, runners-up in Greece*
|
there are still a few teams that ideally would be avoided there as well, but they should be heavy favorites against all, much better than one of the Italian teams or Sevilla which could have happened

^ well the other silver lining for Spurs fans is the Europa League qualifier. Now if they could just extend Wenger it would all be perfect. I can't see Sanchez sticking around and playing Thursdays in far flung places won't be thrilling for them to deal with next season.

there are good tattoos, there are bad tattoos ... and then there's Leroy Sane's tattoo of himself celebrating a tap-in goal in a CL last of 16 game (that they lost).

What a cheesy contrived self serving send off. Good riddance Terry. Thanks for the memories.

The fact that Sunderland through Moyes agreed to kick the ball out around that time was pathetic on their part
Jt lifting another trophy he had nothing to do with is beyond parody at this point
He probably would extend this 2 year goodbye into a 3rd if Chelsea somehow changed their minds
Can't wait for him to go away, I hope so badly he goes into coaching because if he doesn't he's going to be all over tv as a pundit

lol. It's obvious he just waits to see whether they win on Wednesday and get into the CL, but man, this is tiresome. It's understandable from his point of view, but I'm always skeptical when someone is so happy to delay and postpone a transfer.
Reports in France say there's also a lot of progress regarding Bernardo Silva going to United. Would be great to address the offensive needs with Silva and Griezmann early. Then replace Smalling with Keane and get in a defensive mid and they're set.

Moyes has resigned as Sunderland manager
Thought he'd do a Benitez and go down with them, but quite fitting that he leads them to relegation and then quits one day after. Can't see a club giving him another chance, he's sucked at every club after leaving Everton.

Honestly that's probably a positive for Sunderland. I don't know that they can just bounce back like Newcastle did, but Moyes leaving isn't really the deciding factor.

no arguments here. Just surprised they didn't sack him at some point, I thought keeping him until the end meant that they'd go down together.

Not only was that pathetic, but at least questionable. You can't have a game where the teams are pre-planning these things and Conte of all people knows that. I can't believe the FA is turning a blind eye actually.
And no, I don't think it she be a points deduction or anything like that, but seriously teams should respect the integrity of the game.

Defoe close to signing with Bournemouth on a free transfer. Great fit for him and hopefully that team and keep its year over year improvement.

Excellent signing for Bournemouth. I could see that being a really good fit for both sides.
Meanwhile Allardyce has resigned at Crystal Palace. Apparently wants to go out "on a high note" after keeping them up.

They probably balked at his outrageous 'Pints of Wine' demands and then he bolted.

The Chilean FA tweeted out their squad for the Confed Cup and well ... let's say they made a small error. They quickly fixed it, but still.

Sounds like Bernardo Silva to City is done. Great signing for them obviously.

so on the day after releasing a goalkeeper and three full backs, City spend 60m on yet another flair offensive player. Never change, Pep.
absolute gold from RedCafe:
If Pep Guardiola were an architect his houses would have 11 palatial dining rooms and nowhere to take a s**t.
