Most of these bold predictions aren't bold enough....step up your game people.

- Eddie Lack takes over the #1 job in net by end of January, however falter in the first game of the playoffs. Mike Smith takes over the carries the team to a final four appearance
- Matthew Tkachuk avoids the sophmore slump and improves on his totals on a PPG basis, but is given a 10 game suspension for an extremely dirty hit
- Hunter Shinkaruk has a great start to the season in the AHL, is called up in January and scores 12 goals by the time the season ends
- Mark Jankowski is a finalist for the Calder
- Sam Bennett continues to not produce and is traded just before the Xmas roster freeze for a top line RWer and a 1st round pick

BOLD.

I have one bold prediction only.

Emile Poirier shocks everyone and works his way up the lineup and scores 15-18 goals this season. He even sees some time on the right wing with #13 and #23

Parsons is lights-out in the E, moved up to the A, and gets a cup of coffee in the show by March.

One of Ferland or Foo goes north of 25 goals (probably Ferland)

Flames are top 8 in goals against, and finish the season above +25 on goal differential

Flames get more than 100 points AND the Oilers get less than 96

Poirier spends some time with the big club.

The injury bug slams the team hard, with Smith, Johnny, Monny, Gio, Ferly, Hamonic, and even Gulutzan all losing not-insignificant chunks of time throughout the course of the season.

Burke conducts all public availabilities with a full windsor knot.

Parsons wins the Conn Smythe, out-dueling Matt Murray in the SCF and backstops us to our second Stanley Cup.

I'll say the Flames win the Pacific division. That seems both bold and realistic.

Default 2017/2018 Bold Predictions

1) Mark Giordano wins the Norris Trophy.

2) Sam Bennett scores 20G/20A for a 40P season - and plays the entire season as a centre. CP runs out of crow, and the impatient users finally begin to develop patience for player development.

3) Flames win in Anaheim on Monday, October 9th.

I'm seeing multiple 20/20 predictions for Sam Bennett. What makes that bold? He essentially did that in his rookie year (17/17 in 77GP).
