Shaffer would still have been NBC so it makes sense. I can't find anything saying they were regularly on the tonight show except Johnny Carson was the producer of the band and wouldn't let them have a horn section.

Loved the Lotus he drove in the Spy Who Loved Me. Also, thought he was quite epic in Moonraker and his fights with Jaws! RIP.

It looks like whoever taped the interview started recording an episode of Letterman right after the Moore interview ended.

Coincidentally, I watched "Octopussy" earlier this afternoon. I'd say "The Spy Who Loved Me" is probably my favorite Bond. Rest in peace.

It's pretty close between Connery and Moore but I liked Moore's bond just a little better as I feel he was the best balanced of the Bonds.

For your eyes only was my first Bond movie, so Moore has always been a great Bond in my eyes. I also loved his role in Cannonball Run which showed he was a pretty funny guy who didn't take himself to seriously.

"You know who I am? I'm Roger Moore"
"Who?" *punch*

Maybe it was the Duran Duran title song, maybe it was Christopher Walken as Max Zorin, heck, maybe it was Grace Jones - but A View to a Kill will always stick with me as one of my favorite Bond movies.

The cheese factor was pretty high in this movie, but come on - it was 1985. Everything was pretty cheesy back then in the action genre.

Moonraker is and always will be my favorite Bond movie. Jaws flips from the dark side, bond bones a hottie in space, just all around the most fun i had watching a bond flick.

He was already too old when he started as Bond at the age of 46. My favorite Moore film is For Your Eyes only (maybe its the Bill Conti and Sheena Easton theme song) but it's definitely a bit creepy when he could be the grandfather of his Bond girls by the time of his late 70s/80s films. His films were great nostalgia trips of the most outlandish Bond era though and while he was in my mind, the worst Bond as the actor/character - he had some of the better films.

I've never watched the original Saint though, I've always wondered if that was a good show.
