Only if the third line can be better than it has been (I guess tonight it was the 4th). They're constantly hemmed in and being outplayed and not contributing themselves to make up for it. Bennett and Brouwer, looking at you.
Also Elliott would have to maintain his level of play. That's not always easy.
I really think he should get a couple games rest as soon as they clinch.
I wouldn't mind seeing Lazar in for Bouma when Ferland is back to fix that.
And Elliott could keep this up, this is the Elliott we thought we were going to have all along. Not only that, but Johnson was the goalie that got us here in the first place if Elliott needs help.
This is probably heresy for some, but Bart was the weak link tonight. I'd play Wideman. He was much better the last few games he played than Bart was tonight.
Great game again for the Flames...

He shoots left though, the coaching staff loves the L-R pairs.

Rather see what Anderson has before I give Wideman another crack

On the Tkachuk elbow, what the NHL does is irrelevant as they are remarkably inconsistent in their application of supplemental discipline, so arguing over whether it is a suspension or a fine or nothing is a useless exercise.
It was an elbow. They have a penalty specifically for it. Plays like that have been happening in hockey for a hundred years. Not saying it's right but it's not uncommon. Doughty embellished the injury as he was clearly fine and the game went on.
Personally I think Tkachuk was just sick of Doughty's #### and decided to pop him one.

Great win for the Flames. Not quite the final nail in the Kings' coffin, but pretty damn close. 11 points back with 11 to play is pretty tough to overcome. Even if the Kings take the final two games, they still have to overcome a 7 point deficit in 9 games. Seems highly unlikely. Hope they do the Oilers in their next game and give themselves some false hope.
Oh, and nice debut by Lazar. Played an enthusiastic game and fit in well with Bennett. Nice piece for the future.
The Kings are fighting for the second WC spot and they are 6 points behind Nashville with 11 games remaining. The chances of the Kings catching the Flames or the Oilers are pretty slim.
