Default Rank your streaming services

Curious how everyone would rank their streaming services in terms of quality of content/time viewed. We can include any streaming service/channel out there. Imo, Netflix is still the absolute best- and its probably not even close. Prime has really fallen for me in the last year, as it seems like you need to subscribe additional channels or purchase a lot of the content. Anyway, here is my list-

1/ Netflix
2/ Disney+
3/ Crave/HBO
4/ Prime Video
5/ Apple Tv+ (recently cancelled)

I have done a lot of trials for the other channels out there (paramount, stack, starz), but none of them have made a big enough impression to continue a full time subscription.

Crave
Disney

Prime/Apple

Netflix

Crave easily #1. It dominates with all the hbo and showtime content. Except the video quality is potato and no 5.1. That’s so lame. Plus the app kinda sucks. If they improved that stuff, it would be #1 by a mile.

Disney is Disney. I haven’t liked most of the marvel or SW tv shows all that much but they still have a lot of great stuff and a good sized library of movies. Solidly in 2nd.

Prime and Apple are a few steps below and about even. Prime has some good shows but not a ton else. Apple makes great shows but overall is light on content.

Netflix. Well, Netflix sucks. They have the worst content and are the most expensive. That’s a bad combo. I think I’ve used it like 3 times in the last 6 months. FIFA doc, glass onion and maybe something else I can’t recall. They have no good original tv shows anymore, no longer get any 3rd party content. Only thing going for it is their decent sized library of movies but I’ve seen everything. I only ever use it if they have some random movie from 15 years ago that I feel like watching.

Although with discovery trying to ruin hbo, crave may drop off.

Answering for the whole family here and a bit different stuff on American services.

Netflix
HBOMax
YouTube Premium
Disney+ (and ESPN+/Hulu)
Peacock
Prime
Paramount+
Apple TV

The HBO proper shows are my most much watch shows generally. We all watch a lot on YouTube and going commercial free and replacing Spotify with YouTube music pretty much solidifies YT Premium as a must have. Netflix is the one where we (I've got a big blended family with kids all sorts of ages) all have a few shows we watch. Disney+ is close in that regards too. The rest just have one or two shows we care about, but I guess enough to keep subscribing to.

Definitely Crave/HBO #1 and it's not even close. Netflix is more of a comfort thing I think. Safe, ho hum additions, but there's lots of them and the actors are often familiar.

Prime sucks, Apple has good stuff once and awhile but not much content. Disney is great for Simpsons and other old shows, but I'm not a superhero or animations watcher so it doesn't have much for me.

1. None get the first position yet. There’s flaws in all of them.
2. Crave. New content not added often enough to always find something of interest but when I find something I usually remain interested all the way through due to the quality of the content.
3. Kanopy. The diversity is great but can waste #/10 plays a month playing something just to see what it’s about.
4. Netflix. The volume of the content makes up for the fact that most of it is weak. Can usually find something to put on but I’m not often recommending much from Netflix.
5. Prime. Used to have a higher opinion of Prime but I am watching it the least lately as I just don’t seem to find anything of interest. When I do though a series is often up there in quality.
6. My kid uses Disney but the content doesn’t align with my tastes.

1) Netflix - not because of the riveting content but as long as the office and seinfeld is on there i will always use it
2) Crave/HBO - Seen mostly everything waiting for new seasons to hit this month will be used more
3)Prime - content sucks outside of maybe a decent movie every month it sucks, would never pay for it if it wasnt including in the shipping package
4) Disney - used to subscribe but the marvel superhero stuff does nothing for me and didnt really see anything worth watching other than Its always sunny and the occasional movie
5) Apple TV, actually never used it, is it worth it?

Well I am in the US so I perhaps look at it differently and our options are different.

1) ESPN/Disney/Hulu bundle. This is number 1 by a mile. The ESPN+ app includes all Flames games (unless on TNT), every college sport you can think of so volleyball gets lots of viewing in my house, CFL, curling… It’s everything. Throw in all the Disney content and it’s not even close.

2)Netflix - found some decent content lately and I feel like this is what I download most often when traveling

3)HBO Max - some of their content is absolute can’t miss.

4) Amazon- could take it or leave it, but it’s cheap and you get Prime shipping

5) Apple - only look at this once every few months. There has been an occasional good show

6) Paramount - been thinking we’d give this a try

1. Crave - but trending downwards
2. Mubi - lots of international films, and also some english language ones that are more hard to find. They're also streaming 'the kingdom' tv series which is their first go at hosting TV. Some real gems pop up from time to time! Actually this might be my #1
3. Youtube premium - lots of documentaries and news / whatever
4. Prime - every so often i'll get hooked on something, like the expanse
5. Netflix - it's terrible and I actually cancel my membership often, then renew it when i want to watch something.. their subscription is month to month so I recommend doing this often!

I don't watch too many current TV series so my ranking is mostly based on movies

1. Netflix - Still top for me, from financing big name productions to them buying interesting hidden gems from around the world. Good back catalogue too.
2. HBO/Crave - I mostly don't really realise I use this one as the movies they have just show up in the On Demand section on Shaw TV
3. Disney+ - Got it for the Marvel/Star Wars shows but they've been trending downward lately IMO. Been going through the vintage animation stuff lately though, as well as some Nat Geo docs. Of them all, I feel this app has the best interface.
4. Prime - I could live without this one easily, however I subscribe to BritBox so invaluable for that

I also use free apps Kanopy and Tubi, but not enough to rank them (even though Kanopy's world cinema selection is right up my street) Also subscribed to Fubo for the Premier League.

1. PlutoTV - Free, Classic DW.
2. Tubi - Free.
3. Crave
4. Prime
5. Netflix. So much crap these days. But these things go in cycles.

Ugh, the amount of streaming services is frustrating.

Plex - I curate it so it has everything I want to watch. I even use it to watch content from other services so I only need one app to keep track of.

YouTube Premium - Ad-free video and streaming music. Well worth the money.

Crave - Great content; #### app

Prime - it's basically free so I can't complain that there isn't much to watch.

AppleTV+ - I used to bundle it with my other Apple services but I switched to Android so I let my sub lapse. I'll re-subscribe when the next season of For All Mankind streams.

Disney+ - I subscribe for Star Wars shows. Everything else is meh.

Netflix - How the mighty have fallen. I don't miss it.

If only a company existed to provide all of the content in a single service and they could also provide internet and phone service all on one bill!

For the past 2 weeks I rank TSN #1.

I’ll cancel it again tomorrow and see them again on Boxing Day.

Would rank Crave higher if the UI was better and wasn't painfully slow, usually I find it's easier to search on my phone because of clunky it is.

Netflix and Disney+ switch back and forth for top spot

We have Netflix because my wife likes it, but pirate everything else.

I can't imagine paying for 5 different streaming services.

I use others' Netflix and Disney+ logins sparingly, and once in a blue moon I watch something on Kanopy, but otherwise...

Spoiler!

Frankly I watch so little and infrequently that it's not worth subscribing to any of them.
