Rittich has given the Heat a chance tonight. Let's see if they can steal some points now.

Guess the Heat decided they could take the day off now that Rittich has NHL experience and leave it up to him. Getting outshot 45-18 at this point.

Rittich steals a point and the Heat have taken it to OT. No matter the result of this OT, Stockton can clinch a playoff spot by beating Bakersfield in the 2nd last game of the season. Edit: In regulation

Going into the weekend the Heat had two games against the best team in the division, and the Condors had two against the worst team. To come out of the weekend in a better position was a great success

3 games left for each Bakersfield and Stockton....magic # down to 4 points. Sure feels a lot better than it did last week especially considering the quality of opponents remaining. Now the tables have turned...Bakersfield with the harder reaming schedule.

Being outshot 49-21, I'll take a point. And three of four points. Nice!

It doesn't matter in this case. Both Bakersfield and Stockton play the same amount of games. Point percentage equivalent to points.

Everyone else in the division has clinched or been eliminated.

So if I am reading it right each team has 3 games left now with Bakersfield and Stockton play each other one more time on Friday. Looks like they each play on Wednesday so if it isn't settled by then then that Friday game could be for all the marbles.

These types of posts always confuse me.

There's no reason to think Kulak won't be with the team next year unless Vegas takes him.

So why are you already imagining anger?

Like why do people dwell on unlikely scenarios and psych themselves out about it?

Are you one of the guys that was deathly scared Gaudreau wasn't going to sign after college? Where does all this paranoia come from?

Just bizarre

The paranoia comes from historical precedence in Treliving misunderstanding how to fill the bottom of the lineup. Kulak probably won't get taken in expansion simply due to how many better defensemen are available but Brad will go out and sign some crappy vet and Kulak will be waived even though he'll outplay the vet in camp and the pre-season. He'll get claimed and go on to a decent bottom-4 career while the Flames will struggle to find a bottom pairing D that isn't total garbage.

It happened with Byron, it happened with Schlemko and it's probably going to happen again.

I don't recall the 2 situations being anything similar. Schlemko wasn't waived. Unless I am grossly misremembering.

Edit: he left as a free agent. Point stands that he got away I guess though.

Byron was a mistake, I'll give you that, but Schlemko was a numbers game (both bodies and cap) and not much BT could do about that.
