Wow, haha. Do tennis players ever get suspensions? Seems like this guy has earned one

He was already suspended and fined for not giving a full effort, unsportsmanlike conduct, and verbal abuse of a spectator at the Shanghai Masters in October.

I wonder if him giving up in the 4th set last night will warrant another suspension and/or fine.

Djokovic and Istomin with a 16 minute game to start their match. Novak being Novak, rest of the set might be 16 minutes.

Milos looks good so far. Up 4-1 in the 1st set.

Man, Milos has some unreal power when he lets it fly. 3 aces in the last game, Muller barely moved. Milos takes the first set 6-3.

Yeah, those body serves are killer. How the heck do you defend that?

I'm watching Djokovic-Istomin because I expect Milos to roll. Istomin is playing really well and gettting some luck, 19 winners in 7 games and up a break. Obviously can't expect him to keep it up, but taking a set would at least make things interesting.

Nice! A big break near the end of the 2nd set, Milos takes it 6-4.

What a set, an hour and 25 minutes but Istomin wins it 10-8 in the breaker.

Kyrgios has just been fined $7000. I think he got off easy. Also John McEnroe has weighed in:

Quote:
Even I’m at a loss for words. Overall I would call it a damn shame because I think he’s the most talented guy in the world 21 and under — maybe even at 29 and under. He could be the best player in the world, but mentally he’s No. 200 in the world, and I think at critical moments it showed. It’s OK to show your emotions, and I’d like to see that in a one-on-one game when you’re out there by yourself, but when he goes through those periods when he’s not competing, then it’s just a black eye for the sport. And it’s a black eye for him.
Also, Kyrgios doesn't have a coach and barely does any tennis training!

Istomin with two set points for two set lead, but Novak's serve comes through. 5-5.

My goodness has Milos ever grown.

Member when he couldn't return a serve or go up to the net. This Milos is going to win (if he can stay healthy) a Major.

Istomin sends it to five. Unless Novak blows him out (or vice versa), this will be a 5 hour match at a minimum. Not liking my chances of making it to the end lol.
