USB power only. At least I have the adaptor from the NES classic to plug into.

My only hope is that some of the sound and video emulation issues that were noted with the NES mini are taken care of for the SNES mini. The video stuff wasn't terribly noticeable, but the sound issues were particularly noticeable to me.

Nope, I'm not hearing this. The tribe has spoken: you have been voted off the island. You're fired. You are the weakest link, goodbye. Etc.

I had rosy memories of Ocarina of Time as well, I got the remake on 3DS and I don't think I even made it halfway through. N64/PS1-era games have just aged terribly. There's a few that are still okay, mostly the classic JRPGs, but pretty much anything with a 3D camera and complex controls feels horrible now.

I found the only way goldeneye was still playable was to use an emulator and remap the hell out of the controls. Once you got it to that point it was pretty solid.

Actually if you have a decent PC and can emulate PS1 games with all of the newer features enabled, they can look pretty decent. You can't do much about a low polygon count, but enabling HD resolutions, anti-aliasing, and perspective correct texturing (removing PS1 texture warp) makes most games quite playable

Why is Nintendo like this.

Announce a product and release date with all the Hype, but no info on pre-orders. Seriously There is like a 200 page thread on NeoGaf of people spamming F5.

Won't people posting messages like this just give you false hope though? The first thing you see this morning is going to be an email telling you this thread had a post, and you will get all excited, then be massively let down by my inane ramblings. I do excel at disappointment.

On another forum that I visit, one of the members made a post in the Nintendo SNES thread saying "Up, it's up on Amazon! Get it now!" with a link to the Disney blu-ray movie.

. . .

He was banned.

Toys R Us has a page for it now, but no pre-order info. Progress?

The dumb thing about this is I would love to be able to actually buy about 5 of these things for xmas gifts. Its such a cheap amazing gift but we know that won't be the case. Hi Photon bump.

Absolutely. I would have bought the NES mini even though I already own the cartridges I really wanted to play from it. It's just a nice thing to have with the ability to play on new TVs, and the form factor is cool. It's the same thing for the SNES mini. I own copies of, or bought on the Virtual Console, nearly everything on that list, but I still REALLY want to buy it as I'm a big fan of the SNES era of gaming.

So I lost interest in this when the whole super hard to find thing was on, did they not make more of the NES? Was it a limited time thing?

They made a few more NES's, but not nearly enough to meet demand. And yes, it was limited time and has since been discontinued.

SNES Classic is going to be in the same boat, but with higher production numbers.
