He could certainly continue to grow as I believe he did here. He rates his EV defence at 40%. I think this is the rub. He doesn’t score quite enough to be elite. He doesn’t defend well enough to be elite.

Are difference makers HOF material? I think the definition is subjective. He rarely puts the team on his back, but his skillset was good enough the draw interest from most good teams.

Accurate and well stated, with strong evidence.

Their D and goaltending:

Hanifin - Pietrangelo
Martinez - Theodore
McNabb - Whitecloud
Hague

Hill
Thompson

That D is arguably (maybe inarguably) the best in the NHL. And the goaltending is rock solid and under-rated.

Say what you want about them, and they will miss Stone, but I think we are just looking at a Stanley Cup hangover right now. Come playoffs, they will be a very tough out. And I would not want to have to face them in the first round.

^Yup, Martinez and Hertl expected back by the end of the Month, Stone probably game 1 of playoffs. They will be fine.

Hopefully they nosedive for 25/26 though!!

Biggest mistake any one can make is to look past the Golden Knights lol.

Guarantee that every one will be back and magically 100% for game 1 of POs.

Their only concern is puttering along just well enough to ensure that they qualify.

I understand Cassidy tore strips off them for it. Told them they can't just coast until the playoffs, they have to make them first.

Imagine being so good that Shea Theodore is on your second pair. Good god.

Okhotyuk was the Flames' best possession player. Pachal, defying my eye test, was the second best possession defenceman. Although they're both getting relatively protected minutes, 66% and 63% offensive zone starts respectively.

Rooney, Pelletier and Duehr struggled mightily possession wise.
