Baldwin nailed the trump performance. Hilarious.

As someone who doesn't normally watch SNL, is it always that bad?

It's always averaged a 20-30% hit rating, if you don't find the development of comedic talent and "anything can happen live" vibe to be endearing, it's pretty much unwatcheable.

Baldwin was great as trump, other than that, it was an absolutely horrendous episode. I had such high hopes with it being the first episode of a new season and them having 4 months of material to work with... I was extremely disappointed.

I thought the first half of last night was great. Probably better than any episode from last season.

Where was Vanessa Bayer though?

I think new cast member Melissa Villsenor is going to be good.
She was on America's Got Talent in 2011. Her impressions were hilarious.

She was only in one sketch last night. Hoping she gets into more sketches next weekend.

Really enjoyed the season premiere. Most of the sketches were pretty good! The Debate, family fued, the actress roundtable and the librarian were all pretty funny. Weekend update was pretty rough, although I always get a kick out of Keenan doing Big Papi (biiiiiiiiiig lunch!).

It felt like they gave a lot of time to the new guys - they might actually be pretty good!

The new Weeknd tune is a banger. He's great.

They probably also realized that shutting out your new guys and easing them in over too long a period doesn't allow the audience to gain any feelings towards them which leads to stagnation and a feeling that recent cast turnover was poor.

They've made this mistake the past two big turnovers and likely realized they need to just jump in with new cast members and let them succeed or fail.

Change it up Lorne.
I'd be okay with him 3 times a season, The Weeknd is one of the best artists in the world. Also representing Canada

Stranger Things & Trump Campaign Manager skits have been pretty funny.

Good show this week. I have no idea who the host was but I thought he did well. Agreed, weekend update was great.

I think the cold open suffered for not having much time to prepare.

The first part of Weekend Update was outstanding. Che comparing Trump's tic tacs to Cosby using coasters for his love potions was very cutting.

Kate is a generational talent.

I really liked the Stranger Things skit.

He wrote and stars in "Hamilton".

That was a great show....I even liked Twenty-one Pilots, more musical artistry than I expected

Thought the monologue song was excellent. "Crucible Cast Party" cracked me up

I should have worded that better. I meant before last night. I knew the Hamilton thing from the monologue. The line where Lorne asks about tickets was hilarious.
Thanks though.
