also sureLoss ninja'd me AGAIN so I had to post something to add to the discussion

And what if Kylington was so upset with himself for deflecting it in, that he just left the ice, and talked with Rittich later?

He might have also just said something, instead of tapping the pads.
Absolutely ridiculous to make a suggestion that he might not be a good team-mate, based solely on what was 'seen' in that one instance.

Back to the Heat, what a depressing month of hockey it has been for Flames fans.

I wonder if hockey is becoming more like basketball and football, where guys make the team straight out of camp. Elite players make an immediate impact, other players learn over time but it all occurs at the big league level.
In baseball, the vast majority of players spend at least some time in the minors. In Houston, we knew Carlos Correa would be a big league star for the Astros for 2 years before he began playing in MLB.
Maybe the minors in hockey are more important for goalies and defensemen. Are other teams bringing up forwards from the AHL who become top line players? Last Flame to graduate from the minors to the top six was...Cory Stillman? I must be forgetting some.

0-0 halfway through the 1st tonight against Grand Rapids. Stockton is looking really good so far, they're really hard on pucks and really forcing a lot of mistakes out of the Grand Rapids d.

1-0 bad guys 3 minutes into the 3rd.
edit: 1-1! quick response. nice pass to an open Carroll in the slot, the Heat's goalless streak is snapped after 204:12.

Aulie/Morrison get caught sleeping and Grand Rapids scores on a breakaway with 3 minutes left.

Gillies stopped 37 of 39. Would have been nice for him to get a win.

At least Gillies has looked decent recently. The rest of the team, not so much.

Kind of I suppose although like Lombardi he's never been firmly entrenched in a top 6 role. Stillman is probably the best player and not to slight him because he was a good player but man that was a long time ago. St. Louis was signed as a free agent but did spend parts of three seasons in the Flames organization.

Sven Baertschi is the correct answer, you didn't say whose top 6.

Agreed but stats wise, during his first four full seasons with the Flames, Lombardi finished 6th, 7th, 5th and 5th in forward scoring.

Just noticed Kenny Agostino leads the AHL in points, with 58 in 46 games. Beating the second place guy (Jordan Weal) by 13 points and a considerable gap on his own.
Ugh.

yet, the Blues haven't called him up once, despite calling up Rattie, Paajarvi, Megan, Barbashev and played that useless sack of crap, Yakupov. Landon Ferraro was likely ahead on the depth chart as well since he was the last cut in camp, but now out for the season with an injury
Agostino is pretty low on the depth chart, and not much to fret over
