Is this thread necessary? The guy is a career backup put into a starting role he has never had before, what do you expect, that he plays like a Vezina candidate? Give the guy a break.

He's not winning any awards, and he's got a pretty bizarre scrambly style, but I think he's been all right.
Can't fault him for not being an all-star.
Personally I'm not too worried. He's good enough to share starter duties this year, and ensure we're not embarrassed too often.

Macdonald is what he is and that's a career backup. I suggest you curb your expectations otherwise you are going to be pretty disappointed
