Exclamation [Video] Ferland 16/17 Highlights - Part 2 (1st line Ferly)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpY8e2YH5do

As I said last time, I still think Ferland is a real hidden gem amongst the NHL. He has a skillset that I think is extremely unique across the whole league, not just the Flames. Hope he forces his way onto the #1 line again at camp and they can't take him off it.

In 76 games: 15 goals + 10 assists = 25 points, 149 hits, 6-0-0 fight record.
  • 55 games before joining #1 line: 8 goals + 7 assists = 15 points.
  • 21 games after joining #1 line: 7 goals + 3 assists = 10 points.

Videos Completed This Summer:
Up next: Tkachuk! I'm pretty confident it will be a 2 parter as well given I've placed the highlights from Penticton, Pre-Season, October, and November only and already have about an hour and 10 minutes of footage to filter through...

Said in the first part, but man Ferland shot is fantastic. His snipes against the Preds(2nd goal) and the Isles for example are just beautiful.

This is getting me real excited for the season to start.

wow how awesome is that eh?
I'm a little surprised at how many quality assists that Gaudrea just missed capitalizing on.

Ferland's agent should send a commission AC's way if Flames brass see this.

Love Ferland's game. I love the way he complements Monahan and Gaudreau - his shot gives Gaudreau two great options to dish to, and his forecheck + board battling massively shore up the biggest weakness of those two. Loved the plays against Anaheim in the playoffs too - despite Gaudreau getting "shut down", he still sprung Ferland on a few quality chances. IMO Ferland's a guy you want on the ice as much as possible in the playoffs.

He earned that playing time and I was choked to see Brouwer still get time in his place several times after he was promoted.

Ferland better start on the top line to start the year.

I see a huge difference in his game. He's calm poised and not running around taking himself out of the play with bad hits.

Creating time space screens and protection for his line and this team.

What he contributes isn't anywhere else in the lineup yet.

I see this coming from Tkachuk and Bennett soon and then we'll have three guys with hard nosed take no guff for the rest of the team to feed off of.

What I like is these guys draw the rest of the team in to compete doing the jobs they are paid to do.

Awesome.

Such a unique talent. Skill, size, hands, speed, excellent fighter. I can't even think of a comparable player. Sure I'd love a 7 year x $3 million per year deal. Worth the risk to lock him up long term IMO.

Two comments about Ferland you heard the most from Rick Ball and Kelly Hrudey during those clips were "shooters mentality" and "what a release"!

I think Ferland was just starting to find his chemistry with Johnny and Mony last year, and that line could be a real force in the upcoming season.

Hugely underrated speed from Ferland and this video really shows that. You never feel like he can't keep up with Johnny and Monny which has been the problem with a lot of wingers who get time with those two.

Ha, never thought he had issues keeping up with Monny. Certainly not Sean's strength.

The thing that gets overlooked with Ferland is his 200ft game - he's pretty strong in his own zone too.

Physicality, good shot, and strong in his own end.

Pretty much all you need from a winger on Johnny and Monahan's line

If Ferland actually knew how to fight he would be one scary dude. His technique sucks but he is swinging to hurt that's for sure.

Ferland can really be a difference maker on the team this year.
