Sakic... great player, incredibly bad GM.

he was complete and total garbage last season, despite getting opportunities on the Blues top 6, including time with Tarasenko.

I'm just sad he's not still with the Oilers

This is a no risk move from the Avs. What makes this a bad move?

Maybe Colorado can trade him to Edmonton for Leon when they can't sign him!

My guess is that Colorado is in conversation with Oduya and Franson. Its gotta be hard for them to attract any free agents really.

Igor Eronko‏ @IgorEronko
Per Yakupov's agent Sakic expressed interest in Nail before the deadline. Yak also was in talks with SKA, but decided to stay in NA

Igor Eronko‏ @IgorEronko
Igor Larionov, Yakupov's agent, also said Sakic sees Yak as a top-6 winger

Also on the Flames he would have been last year. Someday people will start to realize Ferland isn't the answer for # 1 winger.

Let's look at Jiri Hudler when he played on that line. Then lets look at Michael Ferland. I love Ferland on the team but it could be a much more productive line with someone with some more play making skill.

They were a better line with Ferland on it than with Hudler....

Yakupov's 9 points in 40 games would have ranked 18th on the Flames last year; 13th among forwards. This is utterly laughable.
