Way too much.

Tarasenko is better and he is at 7.5.

Fair deal. Kuznetsov is a beauty. Still needs to show a bit more in the playoffs though.

No it's not. It's a lot too much even notwithstanding the fact that Kuznetsov is a good player.

Terrible deal. $30 million too much and 3 years too much.

A little higher than I thought, but not much higher. Washington really bought a lot more UFA years than I thought they would. Could end up being a bit of a bargain in the long term. A gamble, but one that I think will pay off.

Under 8 million for a ppg 1C with a full 8 year term? It is fair. I would have been happy to get Johnny to this deal, and Kuznetsov is a center.

Kusnetsov and his 59 points bodes very well for Draisaitl and his like totally awesome 77 points.

What? What kind of argument is that? "This is great - I would have paid Johnny that too!" Even though he actually signed for more than $1M less.

Yeah, you have to think Draisaitl is going to get that $9+M now.

so that kind of sets the standard for 2nd line Centres. Could be Backlund's last year as a Flame.

CapFriendly‏ @CapFriendly
With Kuznetsov signed at $7.8M, the #Capitals have $4,656,560 in cap space with a roster of 15 (9F 5D 1G)

I wonder if this is what Monahan's 8th year would've cost?

I consider this deal a million-a million and a half too much. Tarasenko is a better player.

I'd take Backlund over Kuznetsov every day of the week and twice on Sunday even if they were on the same $5 million dollar contract.
