Having just lost my wife to cancer two months ago, I can feel his pain. Not gonna lie, the waterworks burst open during that little clip. It will be an extreme challenge for him to balance work and personal life. It's a tough one, and I hope he finds the balance that works best for him and his family. I truly wish him all the best. F### cancer.

I wish there was a sad button in this forum. My dad passed away of cancer over a decade ago, the illness just grinds your gut out. F### Cancer.

Thanks all for the love and support. Truly appreciated. That said, I realllly didn't mean to derail this thread and Anderson's accomplishment, and even Edmonton's class. Yeah, they should be proud. They did a good thing. Even your worst enemy can do good things in times of trouble.

Anyway, Anderson. Good goalie. Good game. Beat Edmonton. Hopefully this is the second of many losses to come their way. I don't want them to have more points than us. Anderson = Good.

I have no hate for the Senators, the only Canadian Flame rival I can say that about.

I don't see my opinion changing any time soon. Pure class.

I also hope for more Sens wins during Anderson's absence. The team's success need not be a consideration at this time.

Sorry to hear, darthma, I can't imagine.

I'm going to a function tomorrow that is basically a goodbye to an old high school friend. He's been give 6-8 weeks to live, this is his 3rd go around I think with Cancer. Hate this disease with a passion.

Heckuva start there for Condon. I hope he has more success there. If they don't ride him like Montreal did last year, he has a shot at being successful.

Further update and more good news...

Nicholle Anderson’s latest medical tests reveal that her primary tumour, behind her nose, has shrunk dramatically.

In an update published on her blog, StickbyNick, the wife of Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson said her newest CT scan “shows a pretty clear nasopharynx area.”

Anderson is battling a rare form of head and neck cancer known as nasopharyngeal cancer. The nasopharynx is located behind the nose, in the upper part of the throat.

Anderson said her radiation oncologist at New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. Nancy Lee, told her after reviewing the scan that “if she wouldn’t have known I had NPC (nasopharyngeal cancer), she would think my area looked normal.”

Here's something that hopefully generates a smile and fist pump from the majority here: Nicholle Anderson declares she is CANCER FREE!

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/n...s-cancer-free/

Quote:
The Ottawa Senators may have been eliminated in the Eastern Conference Final, but goaltender Craig Anderson has received some truly incredible news in his personal life that renders any hockey result irrelevant.

Anderson’s wife Nicholle has declared she is cancer-free after a battle with the disease dating back to last October.
