I wouldn't be surprised if Andersson was #1

Thanks for doing this. Just goes to show how hard it is to make the NHL. Not a whole lot of yellows there.

Not sure who I would have second yet but for me Parsons is a lock at #1.

I think Janko is still a prospect and would be #1 in my book. Andersson, Parsons and Valimaki, next up.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Gotta be Jankowski this summer, imo. Parsons second, Andersson third.

Easily Jankowski because of how most of us probably expect him to be a full time NHLer this year with the potential to develop even further in a top 6 role.

Just for pickiness, should Broissoit be blue, not gray?

Yes and no.
Looking at 2013 list of 33 names

7 have made the NHL
7 more remain in the Flames farm system
There are others that will make it in other teams systems like Brossoit.

That's not too shabby IMO.

I'm surprised Ferland was so low before.. Was it because of his personal battles at that time?

No, I think he was just an unknown as far as the fans go. As they got to know him he sure jumped up the leaderboard quickly.

Ferland first crack at pro hockey did not go well. He struggled in the AHL and was then demoted to the ECHL where he continued to struggle. He was eventually sent back to junior as an overage player. He played a handful of games for Brandon before getting traded to Saskatoon. He faired pretty well back in junior, but obviously there was still a lot of question marks surrounding his game.

Looking back now it seems obvious that his struggles were personal issues and off the ice. Just goes to show you how difficult it can be projecting prospects.

Nice job!

What I find very alarming is that only 1 player who actually had time in the minors over the last 4 years has graduated to the Flames and that is Ferland.

Chucky, JG, Monny, and Sam dont count as they went directly to the NHL.

My point is, is there an issue with development and preparing these kids to take a spot on an NHL roster within the organization?

I would be curious to see how many players that the Flames have developed have actually become full time NHL'ers in the last 5 years, regardless of NHL club they are with now.
