I don't have a "hate-on" for Monahan. I love what he is for a 21 year old forward. But he's been bad so far this season and I don't have blinders on because he's only 21.

He's been just as invisible as Backs, with his share of botched defensive assignments and dumb turnovers. For the most part they've been equally bad at even strength but at least Backlund's been a decent penalty killer. Monahan hasn't been there on either special teams. Minutes-wise he's earned the slack he gets because he's dangerous to score, but he hasn't really been dangerous this year so far.

Ugh I am pissed off. I don't have 360 and a big flames and flyers fan so I can't lose watching this one.

Monahan hasn't been fantastic, but he's been nowhere near as terrible as Backlund. Backlund is playing himself off the team in my opinion. Hopefully he gets going tonight.
